Since we are logging into this site with our Microsoft account, wouldn't it be easy to integrate our player stats into this site the way Bungie does with Destiny? We could change our characters equipped items, preview items we'd like to buy, and generally just goof off with our pirates and experiment with different looks. We could compare our stats with our friends. You get the picture. Do it, Rare.

@hoppentosse Ok, forget about the stats. Wouldn't it be cool to check out your pirate and have a 3D preview to see what the different cosmetics would look like? If they ever do bring microtransactions, this would make it a much easier pill to swallow. The current in game preview method is severely lacking.
@warmcreator8491 money made, player rep, players killed, ships sunk, chickens delivered, emblems, pirate preview (3d model), etc. etc.
have you ever seen bungie's site? you can change your character's gear, preview your character in 3d, see all your stats. it's pretty cool.
@marsmayflower never said for me personally a bad thing. I dont mind pvp. BUt so many people here complain already and if these stats were added, oh my god, these forums would be a sea of crying people.

@sirliborius Yea, because having 20 rifles in a foot locker is immersive. please.
Storage capacities are not the most realistic things in the game, i admit...
But having to go to the locker to get them is immersive!@crazyt101 And what they do for Destiny is 1000% improved over that.
If they had an API I would make my own companion app. Do it, Rare. Make an API, that is.
@marsmayflower as far as the chickens delivered and emblems just check the reputation tab in the game and all that's right there. How many chests you've turned in, bounties, animals, distance traveled. They only thing missing is ships sunk and kills.
@devilettuce are you sure? i thought it just shows your progress on the current emblem? not totals. can't check right now.
@marsmayflower well all the totals will reach 1000. And let's face it, if you've turned in 1000 Captain's Chest, 1000 hateful skulls, etc, what's the point of keeping track after that

It’s not that type of game tho. We don’t keep score and everyone gets a trophy type a game.
@warmcreator8491 what about it? what does that have to do with me wanting a convenient place to see my pirate, his booty, and his history?
I want to see everyone's stats in game. In game i think you should be able to tab between world and server rankings. Give us something to compete over. Give us some way to truly become legend not just congrats your legend for grinding for so long. I want people to see I am in their server and cower.

Just show them...
@marsmayflower Would definitely be cool if we could see our pirate on the website and maybe even see what cosmetics and commendations we have unlocked.
How? id love to know how you would accomplish this in game. Every player in SOT is equally a nobody and there isn't a single function that allows your username to be broadcast to the community.

By simply sinking your server ...
Some sort of bounty system would be interesting however. But not one that tracks stats for users to see.

It is naive to think that by simply sinking someone a few times they would remember you and spread your name.
If the game map was massive, and everyone played on the same server or even just a few named servers (pick which to go to), then you could become known. However with so few people on each server you cannot impact the community from in game to gain any renown.
With the limitations of xbox hardware the above stated is not possible. Thus stats are the second best option.

It’s not like I can’t see where you’re coming from. It would add to the experience. But to implement it, imo, would be to the detriment of the game.
I do agree that something to make us feel ‘special’ or unique would be most welcome... but not this. It should be through cosmetics. Actual “unique” cosmetics.
I’m just not interested in stat tracking for this particular game - and I think, for what you’re suggesting, it would need it. It would completely change the relaxed vibe of the game - which is one of its strengths. The servers are also the size they are for a reason - and part of that is because I don’t think Rare want a renown system.
I’m all for progressing the game, but the beauty of SOT is that it’s not like all the others of a similar ilk. Because it doesn’t track stats.
Why do you ‘need’ to be known through past stats? The whole game is based around your actions ‘in the moment’.
Say I did know you. What difference does it make? I can’t see you until we’re on top of each other anyway and when we’re fighting am I there thinking “oh no - not them”? Because that would literally be it. That’s all I’d think. Then I’d forget about you.
If I join a server and I know you’re in it ... so what? Do I cower? Do I go looking for your scalp? No. I just carry on with my own game. Like I would in World of Tanks, for instance.
The server structure would have to totally change for what you’re after and adding ‘stats’ would be changing the vision of the game - which isn’t what the ‘progression’ of it should be.
