Kinda sad they have to state the obvious....

I think that's all these videos are, stating the obvious. I felt he was shying people away from a sloop experience. Personally I prefer the sloop more and I can sail all day, have fun, fight and sink Galleons and do forts solo. You just gotta practice and use strategies. Too many people want their hand held at every battle and do nothing but complain. I love this game and I am fearful that all the whining and moaning by most is going to destroy the very fabric as to what I love about this game.

Honestly I'm sick of these posts from both sides. Yours included. Solo is a viable way to play, if they don't want people to play Solo then don't put the option in. Rare put out a STUPID video with no information that's just inflamed this stupid pvp/pve war.

THAT been said, under no circumstances should any concessions be made to make Solo play easier. No PvE server.
HOWEVER I do think a bounty should be issued to ships that sink eachother, to encourage less cowardice from the pvp's. Something along the lines of if you sink a ship your name goes on a bounty board, if you sink another there's a reward for your head etc.

This war between us all is ridiculous. Rare need to take a firm side, this video was a horrible, middle of the fence, passive aggressive attempt to alienate a large portion of a player base.

We are all taking the bait.

I took it more as a very polite way of saying "we want you playing as a team"

Solo options needed to exist because sometimes you just don't wanna talk to people. But the game was definelty designed to be played with friends. I think rare just needs to come out and say that directly.

Pushing a 1v4 isn't very smart on a sloop or a galleon. If it's galleon vs sloop, you should be using your extra firepower to your advantage, why would you need to board a sloop yo go Rambo on a 1v4 when you can just unload cannons and light them up?

I still disagree with it though. If you want to sink a ship, you have to kill the players first. You aren't going to sink a galleon with 4 people alive repairing, sailing, and shooting cannons. So why would a sloop be different? The sloop still takes on water quicker, and only has the one cannon on either side. So it's not like the sloop has an advantage over the galleon.

So can a galleon. Whether you're fighting a galleon or sloop, so long as there are players alive bailing/repairing you'll never sink the ship with cannons alone. That's why you kill first, then sink.

I wouldn't expect you to understand, this is how a real pirate sails the Sea of Thieves. 4v4 is nothing, that is the norm... sometimes I 1v3, 1v4... 1v2 your annoying sloop? Not even worth my time. Let the sloop circle and annoy us like a mosquito... we just ignore you until you fly a little too close... and then it's all over for you.

So of 4v4 is the norm, why are you so afraid to fight a 4 man sloop? 🤔

Also you say sloops aren't worth your time, but you also say you chase sloops and call it "sloop terrorism" which is it?

One of the designers said it would be “incredibly hard” to take on a fort with a sloop? Wut? Have they even tried playing this game??? It is so much easier in a sloop - maybe not easy to solo, but certainly straightforwad to 2-man.

-I only chase down and destroy sloops that attack my Galleon. We always win. I never bully sloops, and prefer fights with other Galleons.

I read it, I didn't respond because you are just repeating yourself and someone with an actual argument joined the discussion. So I'm done with you. Go back to chasing sloops while you still have the comfort of knowing you outnumber them.

I wouldn't expect you to understand, this is how a real pirate sails the Sea of Thieves. 4v4 is nothing, that is the norm... sometimes I 1v3, 1v4... 1v2 your annoying sloop? Not even worth my time. Let the sloop circle and annoy us like a mosquito... we just ignore you until you fly a little too close... and then it's all over for you.

I still disagree with it though. If you want to sink a ship, you have to kill the players first. You aren't going to sink a galleon with 4 people alive repairing, sailing, and shooting cannons. So why would a sloop be different? The sloop still takes on water quicker, and only has the one cannon on either side. So it's not like the sloop has an advantage over the galleon.

I didn't say galleons are too hard to sail, I said they're more annoying and take more effort. I like sloops more because I can spend more time messing around and having fun and less time adjusting sails and raising anchors. I can sail galleons just fine, but given the choice I would take a sloop because the playstyle is more enjoyable.

You can sit in your galleon where it's nice and safe. I'll just sail circles around you in my sloop, sinking you and playing my hurdy gurdy while your ship goes down.

I never get sunk but sloops. You lot are annoying though. Sometimes you make me waste time chasing you and killing you. That's what I like to call "sloop terrorism".

More effort does not mean more challenging. There is nothing challenging about turning 3 sails opposed to turning one. It just takes more time and effort. The reward is you get a bigger and safer ship, but I'll gladly give that up for a smaller more agile ship because that's more fun.

I like sloops more because I can spend more time messing around and having fun and less time adjusting sails and raising anchors. I can sail galleons just fine, but given the choice I would take a sloop because the playstyle is more enjoyable.
