NERF IT]]></title><description><![CDATA[<html><head></head><body><p dir="auto">The Blunderbuss is the best weapon in the game even after the 1.0.3 update it is still the best choice of weapon and it is to powerful with no restrictions on it and these are facts about the weapon and why it needs to be change and my opinion on <strong>How to Fix this</strong>.</p>
<ul>
<li>Fire power<br>
This weapon can one shot you (if all pellets connect) from full health and this is fun for those who abuse this ,but for those who doesn't want to be a common noob and jump on this train will be murdered.</li>
</ul>
<p dir="auto">Of course they have to jump over the range barrier the gun has (now more than ever)  but once you jump over it only take one shot to end the fight. (Yea it is a risk/reward but if the reward give you that much of pay then who wouldn't want it?)</p>
<p dir="auto"><strong>How to fix this</strong><br>
<s>Nerf it that the maximum amount of Damage is done is 70% of a persons health .</s><br>

<p dir="auto">For example, if they make the spread more tighter and every pellet more damage, but with less pellets (just enough for it not one-shot in pvp) that would be better for everyone in my opinion because you can do more reliable damage from farther away.</p>
<p dir="auto">Making it a weapon that has good damage from farther away and pushes unwanted enemy's.</p>
<p dir="auto">Putting it on the same playing level with other guns(pistol:55% Eye of reach:85%)</p>

<li>Reloading while jumping<br>
When you don't land all your pellets or not enough pellets the first thing anybody does is run away or better said Jump away to just reload and to shot another day with no restrictions doing so , making it that there no real punishment for missing that shot.</li>
</ul>
<p dir="auto"><strong>How to fix this</strong><br>
Make it that if you move to much when you reload you put away your gun  or make it if you jump it cancels the reload. or hinder movement greatly when your reloading etc.</p>
<ul>
<li>Unlimited Shots<br>
Almost all fights in SoT happens when your boarding an enemy's ship or being boarded, so this means because all ships have an ammo crate available to everyone.</li>
</ul>
<p dir="auto">When you have a box that gives you ammo after you run out immediately your never gonna have a problem with running out, making it that if you have a gun fight on the ship and run out of ammo you can just refill and keep on shooting.</p>
<p dir="auto">Which in itself is not a problem(although this kind of throws out the point of having 5 bullets on your person to limit you constantly shooting others if it just going to be on the ship for anyone to get as many time they want)</p>
<p dir="auto">The true problem lies in the Blunderbuss That can one shot other players, and you have 5 to shoot only to have it being constantly filled up back to 5 to shot again is over powered to say the least.</p>
<p dir="auto"><strong>How to Fix this</strong></p>
<p dir="auto">There are many ways to go about this obviously some idea are better than other like: add a cool down after you yourself just got ammo(a 3 minute one)or move the location of the ammo like put it on the crow nest or just straight up remove the ammo crate from the ship completely.</p>
<p dir="auto"><strong>All of these sound bad but something has to be done, because people just abuse the fact there is unlimited ammo</strong></p>
<p dir="auto">"<strong>New idea:</strong>" Make it that you can customize the location where you have your ammo box making it hard for enemy's to find it (that would also be something real cool to have in the game too)</p>
<p dir="auto"><strong>Afterword</strong><br>
Before you type that I'm complaining, or<br>
The Blunderbuss is not that op(because of the range)<br>
or that I cant hold my own In pvp</p>
<p dir="auto">consider the fact that the pvp in this game is going to take place in small quarter spaces (on and inside the ships)<br>
the Blunderbuss is the best possible choice by nature<br>
BUT if that BPC can one shot people and can give you the power to wipe the whole Squad and some, then that's too much.</p>
<p dir="auto">So much that using the sword isn't viable anymore to fight against the BB (unless you run away until you find an opening but sometimes you don't have that luxury/space to do that)</p>
<p dir="auto">All I ask That if one or even some of my <strong>How to Fix this</strong> suggestion's are to be applied it'll make the Pvp a battle that takes skill and spit second choices and misdirection, compared to the current jump and shoot and run away until you can get a kill with the Blunderbuss Meta it sad how little skill it take to do that. (even I a Xbox player can wipe the crew with no effort with it)</p>

<p dir="auto">but currently bb requires no skill to use effectively in pvp because the movement has not restriction when using it making jumping that range barrier very simple (unless they just run away from you until you give an opening)</p>

<li>Bring up your sword.</li>
<li>Never let go of the right click block function of your sword, trust me, this is going to improve your chances of winning in more than one way.</li>
<li>If too far away, hold any direction (W,A,S,D) and press jump  to sidestep, making it extremely hard to hit you with guns.</li>
<li>When close enough, keep holding the block button, and attack once, the first attack whilst holding block, makes you move at normal run speed, allowing you to catch up the last distance.</li>
<li>If the first attack hits, finish the 3 slice combo, as you move around the target unpredictably.</li>
<li>Keep holding block, and if the last hit of the sword combo knocks your target away, remember the first attack of any sword combo, makes you move at normal run speed, allowing you to catch up easily, and finish that scallywag.</li>
<li>If you're feeling brave, keep holding block, and then hold power attack, you will be able to move at normal run speed AND able to jump whilst powering up your attack, if you land the power attack, 50% of the targets health is gone, so 2 of those, and you killed them.</li>
</ol>
<p dir="auto">Just knowing the sword controls is all you need to completely roflstomp gun-spammers, regardless of what gun they use. :P</p>
<p dir="auto">The blunderbuss has already been nerfed, leave it alone, and just git gud instead! :)</p>

It's a arisk vs reward weapon, If what you are suggesting passes then we have nothing to counter boarders climbing ladders. That's what I use the bluderbuss for is protecting my ladders. The blunderbuss after nerf has been reported to make pve combat more difficult as well and nerfing that further will just drag out forts even more.</p>

I find it incredibly easy to deal with. You know how you can jump in the game? Do that, a lot. 95% of players will hit you with maybe 3 pellets, to which you simply slap them with you sword and laugh. When I started I thought the sword was trash and blunder was the way to go. Boy was I wrong, I don't even equip it anymore. I've found the best way to pvp is to force close engages with your cutlass, maybe lead with a pistol shot, or sword dash into pistol shot (instant kill). All it comes down to vs a blunderbus is really good movement, once you master that the blunderbus is absolutely irrelevant especially after the nerf.</p>

<p dir="auto">I agree completely! I despise the blunderbuss and though I don't mind the tool in game overall, I feel that it's one hit or even near one hit capacity really is overpowering. It turns pvp into less of a chess match and more into a % chance of who fires first once they've clipped into your body art.</p>
<p dir="auto">Which is another thing that I've considered, shouldn't players 'block' other players. I get it, griefing doors and such would be stupid. But a simple 0.5 second delay in passing through a player would solve all concerns there.</p>

Can also keep higher damage for targets who are on ladders (so blunderbuss can still protect your ship effectively if you don't get surprised).</p>

You can take another player's ship, fire its cannons.  Its silly to say they shouldnt be able to take ammo.  They can take your supplies. Ammo is a supply.</p>

<p dir="auto">Nerfing it further, you may as well take it out of the game. It is hardly overpowered in its current form, and actually gives the sword some edge in any battle occurring on a ship. I actually see the sword just as often as I do the blunderbuss now, and they seem equally effective when used in their proper range. Weapons that function well like this within their respective roles are fine as is.</p>

<p dir="auto">The damage is so low, and the 3 swing cooldown really kills it for me.<br>
Really I just use the sword to lunge travel/jump.  More often than not, I just run double guns.  Real piratey Rare.</p>

There is no reason to nerf the blunder any further. If you actually land EVERY pellet, it should one hit kill.</p>
