Guild system suggestion

  • Hi, before I start I want to apologize about my English...This is not my language but I will try to do my best.

I would like to make a suggestion on a guild system for SOT.

I wish we would create a guild and create a special outpost for the guild. This outpost would be a kin of lobby where you can see the guild player's who are connected and where you can team up and take quest to accomplish for the guild, talk, drink, etc. This lobby is not part of the map so you cant be attacked by other pirate. A littlebit like the safe zone in division but in this zone you can only see the guild members.

When you accomplish the quests for the guild the recompense will be higher than the normal quest but the reward will be splitted 50/50. Pirats who complete the quest will get half of the reward and the other half will be sended to the guild bank.

The money in the guild bank's will be used to customise the boat layer for the guild or you can customize the guild lobby like the bar where people start...there is so many idea of customization in this game...I hope in the future we will can customize the boat from A to Z.

Off course I would like the see special events and specials quest for the guilds.

When you team up and you are ready to take the sea you will start the game normally in a random outpost. I repeat..how I see this the guild outpost is only a lobby and he will not make part of the map...so when you have to sell your rewards earnerd from guilds quest you have to go to a normal outpost where the PVP is allowed.

    So...this is my basic idea.

  • @bfc-aheadrex Your English is fine btw. I like the idea of a lobby we enter before starting matchmaking sort of a Pirate Valhalla, I also like the idea that some of the Crews that were set up could contribute to other members and would love to have my flag for Athena's Armada on my ship someday.

  • @senilegold Thx!

  • @bfc-aheadrex Like this idea, the system should be called 'crews' and the leader needs to be called 'captain' it needs to be very piratey.

Also quests shouldn't reward TOO much more than normal quests, or no one will want to do the faction quests anymore which would be a shame.

I think also the crew can agree on a logo/flag and if people want they can sail under their crew flag :) (but should also have option of choosing their own... perhaps the crew flag is just the top one, and the lower one is your one..)

Rare are already talking about pirates having to work together to take on the first AI boss, well this would be an IDEAL way to accomplish that!

  • An insland is almost useless and not very friendly, as what you want is to pick up to three friends to start the game, a list like in Overwatch can do the trick. The problem with a lobby-island is that it would be very complicated to communicate for guilds with many people connected.

  • @thejolirouge I'm confused by this xD

    • How is an island useless and not friendly?
    • It isn't complicated, just add a chat which can be used no matter where you are in the world, like lots of MMORPGs have... literally no matter where you are in the entire ocean if you use this particular chat your crew will be able to read it...
  • @angrycoconut16 my mistake, when I said "useless" and "not friendly" I had in mind the user experience, as an island-lobby wouldn't add any value and wouldn't be as user-friendly compared to a simple page with the list of online/playing/offline people. You have to walk around, meet your friends, talk with them, be sure they are all ready, etc... when a simple page allow you to see everyone and their status in a blink of an eye, then send the invites and start.

Not that I dont like the idea, but if I imagine myself in context I think it would be nice... the first times. Then it would start to be a pain. When you just want to start your game, but have to go through this step, you just end up wanting to skip it as fast as possible to begin the real things. Plus, the development time would be far too big for no added value.

  • @thejolirouge To be 100% honest I think a guild area is nice also to put gold towards, to have a social place unique to each crew, which would be amazing. (this would also add more value, I'm sure people would be very happy joining a crew and being like woww this is your crew spot? Or crews can be very excited when they start up and buy their first piece of furniture for their crew hall/island or whatever else would be implemented). Yes we have the tortuga suggestion too, which would also be to socialise, but that's public, you can't customise that. This would be an area every crew can feel unique in and contribute towards :)

But I agree, a menu is the easiest way to see who is online for instance and definitely fundamental to a guild/group system. Simple 'click' oh ok there are 4 people online. For instance. Perhaps there is an NPC you can talk to in each and every outpost, and they will take you to your crew area when you want :) So you still spawn on an outpost, so no changes in difficulty, but you are able to choose to go to the crew area if you want :)
