@namnorisdog yup. I am. Although I only started collecting at 35. Progress has been slow to 45. But there does appear to be a small bump both in number of maps and quality of items.

@hiyall1 In regards to the headshot bit, last night a buddy and I were on a sloop, another sloop was following us. My buddy was at the helm, full health, took an Eye of Reach to the back of the head and died. So something is goin on in the head shot department.

Also, I have been 2 shot by a pistol. I was trying to be sneaky and swim from my boat to an outpost, but, someone else was there and saw me. I took 2 shots with full health while I tried to swim underwater and then met Davey Jones.

42/35/31. I focus specifically on hoarders at the moment. While your point about 40 is interesting (and I've noticed the ridiculous slowdown since 40 on GH), the amount of rep you earn per item remains unchanged - it's just the amount needed drastically increases per level. So it doesn't matter how you get the things for rep - you'll get more total rep for a quick fort on average than the same time spent voyaging. I have noticed that I'm getting more sorrow/grogs (read: one every few hours as opposed to every few days), but that started when I was level 35, and the same day the patch dropped (and is also happening to a friend who's level 20) so I had put that down to the patch, not my level.

I don't even want to think what 45 looks like, because pixels for castaways is already depressing.

This is true. I was solo slooping and my ship was riddled with holes. I had to frantically bail until I could manage to patch just 1 hole. I had to repeat this over and over until I was able to patch enough holes to slow down the water level enough keep me afloat long enough to patch the rest.

The whole time, my sloop was sailing east with no one at the helm. By the time I recovered enough to go back to steering, I had sailed off the edge. By the time I turned back into the map....new holes. I did not want to scuttle or sink because I had loot on board. So I went back to patching again. By the time I made it to an outpost, I had 2 planks left in my inventory and none on the ship. 😂

Fake News: You have very little way to tell where you are unless you ise the map.

Truth: There are many ways to tell your location. First look up at the sky for the only star that looks like a star. That is the North Star(now you know your direction). Next determine the type of weather around you. If it is dark and cloudy, you are in the wilds, if it is foggy, you are in the Ancient Isles, and if it is clear, you are in the Shores of Plenty.
