@evasive-envy It's not so much as I believe in some m*********e, only that I believe in a master human interface device. You have to understand that the controller is not suitable for serious FPS gaming just as a tricycle is not suitable for serious riders. You can't really be competitive with a controller, and if you think you can it's because you don't know your own capabilities with a mouse. Sorry if this is insulting, but it's not about you, it's about the controller.

Spamming jump in combat does look awful. It has been around in games for years but even since BF2 they’ve added ways to limit it, like stamina bars or 2-3 jumps and then a cool down.

What if you couldn’t jump when you had a weapon or banana equipped? A lot of players seem to think it’s easy enough to hit a jumping players, so it’s not adding anything game play wise?

You just lost credibity with me and most likely with many other gamers. These broad statements serve to further increase the divide between PC players and console players.

I'm not going to go into the details of why and how that statement is flat out wrong and inaccurate. Your analogy just reinforces the whole 'PC m*********e' attitude and its disheartening to see fellow gamers using language that is not inclusive to, as I said, further increase the divide between PC and console.

You know, we are all gamers in the end and there are plenty of competitive PvP players both on console and on PC.

@seriouslyslyguy I think the best answer to this is to reduce weapon accuracy significaly when spamming and reducing the movement speed.

Ahhh another selfish suggestion about limiting other players to make it easy for the minority of noobs. I find myself leaning toward the ever growing "Git gud" crew as the days go on in these forums.

So let me get this... because you can't adapt to others playstyles you want to limit all players abilities to make it easier for you? I'm an xbox player and i dont have trouble adapting to players who jump a lot so speak for yourself not the xbox community. How boring would the game be if everyone was forced to play YOUR way and was easy to kill, that wouldn't be fun at all for experienced players on PC or Xbox.

I set my jump button to the right joystick on Xbox One.
Much easier and more control than pressing A.

@seriouslyslyguy Sadly, it's one of the only effective strategies to counter blunderbuss spam, as it's otherwise just a case of who shoots first, what with the blunderbuss being practically an auto-hit in the close confines of a sloop deck.

I do this on xbox with my controller. It's really not hard or even complicated to do...or hit people that are doing it.

jumping around or 'bunny hopping' has been around since day one and is used in pretty much all fps's. Be grateful they haven't added the ability to evade or do side stepping because that's even worse.

Console p***s are gonna p**b no matter what you change...get good or go home.

Everyone can jump and eat banana at the same time. And why would it matter about any correlation to real life, can you shoot yourself out of a cannon or kill reanimated gold covered skeletons in real life? I guess we better get rid of those too... really they should just delete this whole unrealistic game, right?

Just a follow-on solution to the jumping spammers...

Give players a statistic: "Number of Jumps per 1,000 Gold Earned" or
"Jumps per Kill" ....
This way the only player statistic acts as a 'Shame Monitor' of sorts, lol. 🙂

@xgodkevin I agree completely. I have no issues, but I also use an elite controller. Plus using the dodge mechanics is plenty easy even without paddles. Gotta have them fast fingers.

Ooo solution, get rid of cross play. Hopefully that would solve my main issue. As a PC user if there is no cross play then they can up the ships per server count!
