So, I don't play Xbox, but I have some experience with FPS games on PS4 and I always use the accessibility controls (ie: control rebinding) to set my jump button to left bumper (L1 on PS4). The advantage of doing this is so you can aim easily while jumping.

I suspect on the Xbox version of the game Jump is bound to something stupid, like one of the face buttons, forcing you to take your thumb off the right-stick; limiting your aiming.

Give it a try if it's possible. You might find you enjoy bunny hopping around like a pro ;)

Yep, Bunny Hopping/Dodging is a good strategy. And you are correct about where Rare binds the action.

I play on Xbox1 with an Elite controller. The Elite gives me the option to re-bind actions however I choose. Plus I have extra buttons as well!

Scuf or Elite controller all the way for any FPS game on the XBone for those backside paddles/buttons. Absolutely changes how you play.
