It's funny you bring that game up lol. I actually played BR on that title for a while and then realized they had a castle defense style game mode and got hooked. Spent over 200 bucks on that game since launch to be honest...

To further clarify you cannot compare a Shooting Battle Royal game to a game like Sea of Thieves. There is nothing in common within the genre to make it comparable to. That is like saying a bicycle is comparable to my BMW superbike, yeah they are both on two wheels and are ridden but when it comes to the important stuff they are leagues apart due to what they are. One is a racing machine and the other a transportation device for kids.

@s1l3nt The ideeas are great from my oppinion, i just hope that they listen to some of these threads (highly doubt it) as from that i have seen a lot of people have great ideeas, we will have to wait and sea :D

The first thing to be done is to impliment NPC ship(s) that have skeleton crews of say 20-30.

Have them patrol areas at random and to never start from the same location and have their pattern memory reset on each server refresh/reset.

Have the NPC ship(s) possess goods so you are rewarded for sinking them.

Allow the ship to be used by players who are able to board and take the ship.

Second thing to implement is a bounty system exact to The Division's Rogue system.

These two things will put this title in the right direction IMO.

It's an open world sandbox and nothing else. And it was not promised to be something else.

Believe me when I say I only do the job I do because I make the money I do. If you want to translate that into the game then its completely accurate for me there as well. I play whichever gets me the most gains unless I am in a crew then I just play whatever majority wants to do and focus on enjoying the experience of group gaming. There lies a problem when everyone says which missions you want to do and everyone says I don't care. Face it the game is bland. Amazing in most aspects but bland when it comes to content.

We can all sit here and make excuses or we can realize there are only 3 missions, one raid, and griefing people at sea. That is 5 things to do in a game. Count them.... Five. Cinco. Cinque. Fünf. 五. cinq.

Hmm, i noticed some similarity between SoT and another game (that has floating islands, dont know if i can mention it on forum) and that game has an island creator for people to submit for review to the devs as to implement them in the game, maybe this feature will be made for the game too, as i understood from diferent posts and such, content is coming under diferent forms, so i would wait for that. I see the game like a type of battle royale game + ships sea and some sidequests, troll people, dont just sink them, board them, lower their anchor, hide and dont shoot, make them question their sanity, board them take the treasure and move it but leave it on the ship, board them while shooting people out of the cannon at them (a lot of people forget that that is in the game) watch them panic and laugh at how they start shouting on the voice chat. I understand that you will say that it will wear out, but why should it? Arent other games like battle royale players getting worn out? no because they find ways to entertain themselves, teabagging mostly or killing and dancing on the corpse, you can do that here even sing them a song!

I really just grind, doing the Basic loop.
but i can agree in some degree ;) but when I hear comments like that on the forum, I just think "come sail with me" an Ill show you what this game is about.

The tools in game is just for you to create some fun Voyage.
Doing the Npc Voyage, just put u out there in the world to be a friend or a danger to us all.

they could remove all cosmetic gear, an ill still sail the seas.
dont get me wrong, I love some of the cosmetic gear ;)

@matt92099 I understand what you're saying and I think part of my enjoyment comes from playing through the alpha's beta's etc and seeing that new content added regularly.

From what we know, Sea of Thieves is a 'game as service', which means there will be regular updates of content and mechanics. There is already a huge heap of feedback, reviews and suggestions all over the media and forums and I am certain that Rare are taking note of these and looking at their current roadmap.

There are also a bunch of articles from a press release in February which outline a little more about what is coming in the future which might assuage your concerns a little -

@katttruewalker I love your response you go on and on about great things in the game are which is what i wanted to see so i thank you. i just want to see more things to keep me interested. i agree i love the freedom. heres where it gets tricky for me. i love sailing, a month from now im gonna need more then just the sailing to keep me interested. i love exploring. a month from now you would have explored everything. finding bottles is cool but it just brings you back to a fetch quest infact the only thing exploring leads to is turing in items aka fetch quest. i love sea battles but for one they only happen everyso often and you dont really gain anything from them MOST of the time not all but most. you can spend money on the limited cosemtics there are. (needs to be a lot more as that is simply disappointing for how long they had to make them). if your not spending the money why bother getting it. I simply want more to do in the world and with eachother, what that is im not really sure atm i just hope i find it eventually. im worried about the longevity of the current game as the like 4 basic things are going to wear out.

Well you have to ask yourself, what do you want exactly? for me it was an amazing time, it was on the edge of my seat for the entire duration, was that not what you are playing for? the thrill of the game? Are you expecting big game rewards or "EPIQS!!!!" that's not gonna happen, at least not for now. Now for the rince and repeat, no, the next engagement will be different, maybe we will have a powder keg and we get to explode it on their ship, or ram an enemy ship in another enemy ship :D you never know (Regarding the rince and repeat is it not the same in RL? go to work/school, come back, play a game or go out sleep rince repeat?)

Fun game. We always want to do loads of quests but end up messing around. Next thing we know 6 hours have gone by.

I'm looking forward to the weekly/monthly quests/events and all the free dlc that might start arriving in a few months.

It is definitely a game you need to try. You will always have haters and lovers. It's what humans do best. The game pass option is so good. Try it for the free two weeks. Then carry on paying £7.99 a month or buy it. 😁

@matt92099 Ahoy there, I've been on the forums for a long time, I don't recall whether it was said that progression would be any other than cosmetic?

I've played a lot of hours in the game and I love it. I particularly love the world and the sailing, the fact that every play session is different in some way or another. I love that I don't have to do the quests, I can spend a couple of hours searching for shipwrecks, scouring islands for bottles, books and other items which I can sell to the traders or dig up the lucrative rewards from the bottles.

It's my choice and if I so wish, I can keep my hard earned gold and not spend a penny of it because actually I don't need to level up, get the latest gear or customise my ship into the ss enterprise.

I really enjoy that it's some of the encounters with other players that add richness to the whole experience whether they be friend or foe. I like that there are no pvp leaderboards, that I'm not having to constantly strive to be 'best', that I can't actually 'fail' at this game because it's all down to my choices and not what the game is telling me I 'must do'.

What type of content were you hoping to see?
