BUT what if they gave you stats that only affect PVE??? For example a sword that does 20% more damage skeletons. I believe this will make the game feel more rewarding. I wanna hear your opinion on this lads.

All I'm trying to say is that they should make the game more rewarding either by what i wrote or make special items look MORE special as you proposed.

But you won't satisfy everyone. I actively do not want stats in this game.

One thing I'd be ok with is items or weapons that make slightly different sounds, play different music or have some particle effects. Like a Cutlass of the Damned that has a very low hum when you hold it and emits a greenish light upon striking a foe. Prestige stuff that doesn't affect gameplay.

Stats come from the table top game Dungeons and Dragons. Because a number was the only way to represent what was happening. As their was no visual.

There actually is no need for them in video games. This myth that that is what an RPG is is unfortunate. RPG stands for Role Playing. Playing the Role of a character. Not stat based game.

Others, though, will relish the freedom. This is role-playing in its purest form, offering just enough tools to help you forge your own destiny across the ocean.

There's little challenge in the balmy calm of a blue-skied day, of course, but as the winds change, and the ocean shifts from peaceful tranquility to crashing terror, as genuinely fearsome storms - or indeed other vessels - cross your path, that's when the Sea of Thieves comes into its own, and the simplistic framework of questing unfurls into the richly complex chaos of its emergent encounters.

These are the glorious adventures that arise through circumstance, pushed upon you by the whims of the ocean, the overarching quest structure, and the simple fact that everyone at sea is playing by their own personal piratical rules, riding the waves as honourable rogues, bloodthirsty warmongers, and everything in between.

In Sea of Thieves, there are no mandatory activities, only guiding systems - and at launch these predominantly consist of treasure hunting, item transportation, and PvE skeleton slaughtering. They're simple things, repetitive even, but they're delivered with a theatrical flair that captures the essence of piracy wonderfully.

As those wondrous waves rise and fall, slamming across your bow, tossing the horizon back and forth, as your loyal crew of fellow humans raise the sails and load the cannons, there's an incredible solidity to the experience - and I honestly can't remember the last time I felt so present in a game.

There is no solution which will satisfy everyone. It's just impossible.

SoT is not the same as a lot of other games around. One of the core things in that difference is exactly that absence of artificial progression you are not happy with. Remove this and you'll kill one of the big appeals of the game and gain very little in return.

Just MHO of course.

In-game currency should not only be used for cosmetics but for items to make your game experience more fun and worth playing. Adding stats to items that can help you complete quests easier by spending hours in the game will be great. Also pirate life is not only drinking rum, sinking ships and finding treasures. We need more pvp experience and quests that goes beyond what i mentioned above. Like hunting monster for bounty, killing certain npcs and even pvp quests like killing specific players. I am sure rare will figure it out. I just hope they wont be overwhelmed by the mass appeal of the game and do something that will ruin it.

Without any kind of progression game will get old really quick, unless they add new stuff every second week.

Here is mine:

Role play is not about stats. RPG elements thrown in like that will not make any proper RPG fan happy.

More damage over skeletons does mean an upper hand in fort assault. There is no strict PvE/PvP division in this game.

It's just bad idea in general, it doesn't fit into the game as it is now.
