Holy carp what is the point of gold-plated enemies?

  • So we got a map in a bottle and it was an OoS map. So we go there, hear the spoopy music, find the right spot. Ran into gold-plated skeletons with chains and watches and chalices and jewels and stuff. Just made out of treasure. Anyways, had two people on the ground shooting and hacking away, one on the ship shooting with cannon balls.

We knew they'd be tough, so we all focused on one guy at a time. Keep in mind these weren't bosses, just regular skeletons. There were 8 of them. So we kited this one guy around blowing and hacking at him. The skeletons could kill us in two shots from their pistols, two from swords. 15 minutes later we were out of cannonballs, the guys on the ground had died 13 times total, and we hadn't killed ONE of them. And yes, we're sure it was the same one.

Sooooooo you can't upgrade weapons or armor for PvE, and you don't start to do anymore damage... So what's the point? 15 minutes and three people can't kill one skeleton. Am I missing something here or is the game just going to get impossibly difficult unless you somehow coordinate to get help from other crews?

  • Get them in water, or throw water on them. They're fairly easy to kill then.

  • If they get wet, they become really slow.

  • If they get wet, they get rusty

A blunderbus will shatter them at close range after in 1 shot

  • @xxxxnoodlexxxx I suggest avoiding skeleton forts for a little while. Those ones just have a lot of health. Lead them into some water or throw buckets of water on them to slow them down.

  • @splatulated well I feel like an idiot now. Hahaha wow. Well I know for next time. Thanks guys. I was indeed missing something.

  • throw some water on them and see what happens
