@kavren mine resolved last night could play fine.
Still haven't had chance though to see if my son can play with me (xbox/pc) the same as we did in Beta, will be a bit disappointed if that can't happen..

Ok, now i only get the "loading supplies" then "The Sea of Thieves Services are temporarily unavailable. Please try again. (Daffodilbeard)." error. I press the enter key and get sent back to the "Press and key to continue" menu.

https://www.seaofthieves.com/status says "All services are running normally".

My client is no longer crashing, and getting past "checking fake coin", but i am still not getting into the game.

Yesterday was fine, today i got it 3 times. Game just crashes to desktop when "checking for fake coin".
It repeats until i restart my pc. Then the game loads up again.
Probably a server issue.

Ok, so i think this is server side. As of this moment, sea of thieves servers are having a new problem (per https://www.seaofthieves.com/status). And with that, I can now get past "checking fake coin" and to the "loading supplies" portion of the loading. Also, the client doesn't crash (as of this moment).

My assumption is: since there is new server side stuff happening (new issues) and i can now consistently get past the "checking fake coin", i think this is server side related.

"this" meaning: my client crashes 70% to 80% of the time at the "checking fake coin" loading portion of the screen, and loads in and is playable 20% to 30% of the time.

@losstaroths which one helped? i did these steps and i still get the same problem. Mind you, the problem isn't that the client always crashes, just that it crashes almost always, and at the checking fake coin screen.

The thing that is most frustrating is not knowing if this is client or server side.

Is there someone from Sea Of Thieves team that can let us know if this is client or server?

Similar issue here now. I'm having it crash on start up at the "checking fake coin" screen. Even when I'm in game my ping is about 90 on average, but gets up in the 200's frequently and it won't let me use two weapon slots anymore. My missions are being given when I buy them from vendors and more than once all my money has disappeared. Definitely some serious bugs that need worked out.

@rommelrox How is your ping? Mine's suddenly hitting the 200s again, and it's definitely not my connection. Trying to figure out if this is related to the previous crashing, might indicate it's again a server problem.

Same here with 2 pc:s and we just played 20mins ago...
both my and my friend pc... same stuck on "Checking fake coin" and after awhile grey flash and crash... :/

Yeah same, I updated Nvidia Drivers last night and I was still able to play fine right after.

I started having problems after trying to play the game on PC and Xbox at the same time. Apparently you can only use 1 "copy" of the game even if it's on different consoles and different accounts (trying to cross play with my sister).

Now I can't play on PC. Game closes after being stuck on "checking for fake coin".

@ukfaninnova I did update the driver last night and was able to get in game this morning, so I think it's safe to assume it's not related.

@majorwhiplash I doubt it's related but I was able to play several times yesterday and never encountered this issue. Late last night, I saw that Nvidia had released a new Sea of Thieves "Game Ready" driver (391.24) so I updated to that. Now, each time I try to start the game, I get to "Checking for fake coins..." and then, boom....crash. As I said, I wouldn't imagine this is related to the new Nvidia driver but I wouldn't necessarily rule it out. Has anyone else just started experiencing this after upgrading to the latest Nvidia driver?

also the same issue here. Fake coin checking, crash to desktop.
Thought it was from running on the xbox also but even with logged out of that same issue.

@conorisawake i'm hoping (fingers crossed) that it isn't a client side problem. I'm hoping that the server end is having problems keeping up with all the internet client demands, and so is slow to respond to client side requests, and then the client crashes out cause it's not getting the server response time that it needs.

If this is a client side bug, though, and it isn't addressed in the next 2 business weeks, i'm going to be super frustrated.

@kavren Having the same issue here on PC. Game played fine all of yesterday and this morning and all of a sudden won't load past this point. Either freezes at opening Journal, which seems to stay frozen for an eternity, or later freezes at checking for fake coin and then the program turns off. It doesn't even come up with a crash screen from windows. Very weird. Not found any fix yet.
