What the title says. The article said the same people will be invited. Does this mean the same criteria will be used (meaning pre-orders) or the same exact people (which doesn't make sense if you are trying to max out the servers)?

Scale Test- If I pre-ordered after the closed beta, can I get in the scale test?
@baldmunkee My take is anyone who had access to the closed beta. There has been no official mention on whether current preorders will be accepted, but it has been asked. As I stated elsewhere, I doubt a preorder will grant you access due to the fact that there will indeed be an open beta in the future. Keep your eye on the official social media channels and check back here in the future if it still hasn't been answered.
@residentapple12 I believe it actually was confirmed by one of the @Deckhands in the official thread.
@dellaint @ResidentApple12 We are currently waiting on confirmation for pre-orders since the Closed Beta ended and whether they will get access or not. All Xbox Insiders will have access and players that had access to the Closed Beta in the past.
@dhg-ixxrmacxxi I was able to download after preordering today, is that a good sign, or non-indicative of the outcome? Thanks for the help!

@dellaint That is a good sign, still waiting on confirmation that it will be the case for all right now.
@dellaint Getting the client is only half the battle, once you reach the game it will check if you are authorised to play or not and Rare may not get this information quick enough to get you into the game.
Still waiting on confirmation though as @DHG-IXxRMACxXI says...

I googled it (I am not home or I would just try it out now) and it looks like an opt-in membership thing. Does that mean that I could just join the Xbox Insider program and get in? I already have pre-ordered the game, but it was after the last beta weekend... :(

@dhg-ixxrmacxxi I haven't gotten an invite to the scale test yet and I'm an insider and I pre-ordered last Sunday? Will i be invited?

It would make absolute sense to provide an open beta a few weeks before launch. From a business standpoint, you'd further create hype helping to drive sales and gain invaluable knowledge on server stress and what to expect at launch. Though it hasn't been confirmed as open, my best guess is that it will be. Hope this helps!@histanical3d Xbox Insider or SoT Insider? @dhg-ixxrmacxxi Thanks for the heads up! Also, any reason (if we are concerned) not to just join the Xbox Insider program in the meantime? Does this trump the "pre-ordered after the beta" question or is there some sort of approval/ invite process for that, too?
@histanical3d @dellaint@PhillandAmy14 I got this message after creating a Xbox Insider account (or opting into that?) when I opened the Xbox Insider Hub. There is a tab that reads "Insider Content." I clicked on that and clicked on the Sea of Thieves link. This seems pretty promising.
@phillandamy14 See my other post here, but in a nutshell, I think that you can download the "Xbox Insider Hub" app from the windows 10 store on your PC and choose to be an insider and get access to the beta coming up. The only thing that isn't clear is if access was automatic as an insider or due to my having pre-ordered it, though I did not pre-order it till after the last beta.
