This is certainly true, but both of those examples required you to sign up or preorder to get access to. With an Open Beta you wouldn’t need to sign up for anything so they would not really need to give that much advanced notice of it. Of course this is all hypothetical.

Just don't get excited or even overly hopeful, all I'm going to say.

The only feasible chance they would do one last minute, is if they increase the server caps or use a new server service and want to stress test them on the fly.

@fatherlytoast85 My opinion if there was an open beta it would be hectic with all the people on the servers if people really want to play beta they can pre-order the game.

@fatherlytoast85 It was extended from the 29th to the 31st... Ended at 8am GMT this morning... Won't be too long before launch now!

It would certainly be appreciated to get another pass through with it for us. I'm sure they have a ton of data to parse and then code to adjust and fix issues found.

I'd think it would be pretty helpful for Rare as well to see how the tweaks and changes made from the data received from this test actually worked before making the final push to release!

Considering the amount of stress this "closed" Beta put on the servers, I'm sure it'll be nothing compared to the full release stress the servers will experience.

Tweak/Correct/Code and give us one more 4-5 day stress test period to really put the pressure on them servers Rare!

So now that the closed beta is coming to an end what's next for the fan base will there be anymore chances for us to set sail? Personally I would love to see an open beta to keep people interested and simply have more time to explore. Also for closed beta players will there be any rewards in the full game for there hard work like progression carried over or a cool stop watch?

@fatherlytoast85 There has been no official word on that yet, and with only 2 months left before release, it seems very unlikely.

But keep an eye out on their official social media channels for an announcement if there will be one.
