Okay I’m making this post because I feel like people are forgetting this fact. Sea Of Thieves takes place in its own world. That means don’t expect to see America, France, or Great Britain. There will not be Black Beard, Captain kid, or Francis Drake.

Will there be real historical pirates?
Simply, no. Sea of Thieves is its own pirate-themed world. “Very early on in development we decided we didn’t want Blackbeard,” explains Chapman, “and the reason why is we want players to become the Blackbeards of our world.”

Now don’t get me wrong that does not mean the developers won’t be sticking with the same time period. So this mean we won’t be seeing space ships, assault rifles, and plasma guns. Lol thank god honestly but other then sticking in the time period of 1500-1830’s that’s prolly about all the game be holding to from our world.
