Before you go into a server free area?

  • What do people think about maybe before you go into a server you spawn on an island with a tavern and such and you can invite your crew, its kinda like a social space in a sense but its for you to gather your crew before you set sail into a server?

  • @tacoxwar We had that discussion around. Let me try to find it.

    Edit: There we go.

  • When you start the game, It gives you the opportunity to gather your friends, As soon as you start you're on an outpost.

  • @jcmdeadpool thank you

  • @its-s****. Yes, but this isn't really how it should be. You might decide to take a friends sloop instead of your Galleon, or any number of ships that have been unannounced. You might decide that one friend wants to go off solo, or you might have one friend want to show off his cool new sails. You might also have that one friend that just wants to stay on the island and fish (if that's possible). You also have the issue that you and a buddy are playing, but your other two mates won't be on for another couple of hours. Spawning at an island means you can take out the sloop for a bit, and come back to meet your other friends and take out a larger ship.

Spawning in at an Island first would give you the options to look at everyone's ships as well as make the outposts seem more lively. Overall, I support the idea. It keeps the flow of the game immersive and fun, and it makes groups easier to manage. Which is as it should be.
