@matt-micheal I pre-ordered my copy for my xbox. I haven't played the game yet but I've watched all the videos on the channel and I'm really excited to try out the beta. I hope it'll be sooner then later.

Alrighty, I had a blast testing the game in the Alpha!

Today I made my pre-order on my first copy of the game for Pc!
2nd copy will follow when I get my fiance to see and test the game and hopefully she will like it aswell =)

and i wouldnt care if its 100 euro's i would still do it but microsoft is making things very hard for a lot of players.

they should release on steam that will give them a massive boost in purchases

i would like to pre order but windows store only lets you use paypal and creditcard both i dont have anymore

I do not believe pre-ordering is good for gaming so I wont be doing that. That aside I agree with a few others I have seen post here will wait to decide if I am buying the game until after beta. Doesn't seem like there is much here other then the pvp experience which I can do without. If this game is only pvp on the open seas then I will pass.

I will probably make my decision after playing the closed beta. The alpha was a great insight, but as people have already stated, it seemed a little on the lack luster side and I really didn't feel like there was a purpose to my adventures. It honestly felt like I was just digging up chests for hours just for cool outfits and utilities.

I wanted to preorder (as well as my friends), but since the game is not available at my store (Croatia), and Rare states they cannot do anyting about it, I just gave up, so no SoT for me.

I played the alpha last weekend and I have to say it was a lot of fun. It is more based on you teaming up with a crew and having adventures with them making stories. I started to sail around by myself when I first started playing but that got boring quickly so I joined a crew and that's where the fun began!

@lt-weulf You're spot on weulf! I felt the exact same way: the game is a little lack luster after running several quests doing the exact same thing. They need to incorporate some elements like Pirates of the Burning Sea, where you have Britain, France, Spain, and pirate classes. When combat activity occurs within area the port goes into contention and have port battles to determine control. NPC staff ports and engage hostiles automatically to protect friendlies.

Allow for crafting of items: shipwright, weapons, tailoring for uniforms, harvesting nodes of wood, metal, farming to produce hardtack, rum, and so forth. Also to be able to use salvage vessels, fishing vessels, and many other potential options for trading in player marketplace/auction house.

I was kind of surprised at how little content exists in the game this close to the game going live. If they don't have any other dynamic in the game other than rinse and repeat digging up chests and picking up skulls, well the game will p**f out pretty quick.

P.S. Oh, I almost forgot, four people on a galleon isn't near enough, we need to be able to group at least 10 on galleon and form fleet or armada with other ship crews to coordinate naval battles. We should also be able to staff up to 4 sloop also.

Done and dusted the instant it became a thing!

I am quite opposed to pre-ordering. However, as I've had actual hands on experience with this title it wouldn't feel bad at all if I pre-ordered SoT. However, I'm probably gonna be buying it day one as I'm extremely tight on money.

When I have money again. Those were the days!

I've had a set of principles for pre-ordering games after the past couple of years. For one I never pre-order before I've played a beta. Alphas usually don't give enough about what the actual release will be like. I also determine whether the perks of pre-ordering are good enough or am I just throwing my money out early for no reason except for a skin or two. After the beta you are totally hooked I would say yeah go for it. Or if there is some sort of collectors edition that you just have to have then just maybe. But I would wait. You got about 3 months.

No where near enough content to justify their price. it's such an empty and repetitive game after playing two of the alphas. Also pre-ordering destroys gaming allowing devs to be lazy. Once they add a lot more content i'll think about buying this game. It's just going to be another No Man's Sky. Lots of nice looking stuff and brings you in with the freedom of the large map, but it's pretty empty. I'd rather have smaller maps and more content. Once they can fill this game up properly, if ever, I'll buy it and you should consider not pre-ordering for the betterment of gaming.

Have to see the beta changes... While I loved the game, I hated the solo play and how outmatched you are vs bigger crews. Need to see the changes before I decide.

Definitely going to pre-order. I've already played this game more hours than other games I've paid $60 for.

I normally hate pvp/competitive games but Sea of Thieves is the most fun I've had in a game in a long time.
