These Mortars, a new deployable, would be high skill ceiling cannons that fire Mortar Rounds, a new cannonball type, directly up into the air. The landing cannonball places tier 3 holes into the ship, deals 2 points of mast damage on any ship, and passes through all ship objects until it hits a terrain object.

On moving targets, it is a nightmare.

Rather have a handheld version instead of deploying. Similar to a blunderbuss, but it knock you back hard, and the explosion/splash damage would be half of a black powder keg. A 1-shot-use weapon is found.
