But before we do that, we want to reflect on the journey we’ve had to this point.</p>
<p dir="auto">Firstly, Custom Seas is a love letter to our players and communities who’ve been staging amazing events over the years, without a dedicated toolset. We’ve been in awe of your creativity and ingenuity (and your persistence!), and we’re thrilled to be equipping you with more tools to set up different game modes and events more efficiently.</p>
<p dir="auto">So many of you have run incredibly fun and engaging events over the years, using our alpha custom server tech or gathering people on retail servers, and the introduction of Custom Seas is going to immediately relieve you of a lot of that set-up labour - as well as provide you with new options for shenanigans. Getting these tools into your hands feels like a seismic moment for us, and we hope you feel similarly.</p>
<p dir="auto">We can’t wait to see what you get up to, and have exciting plans to spotlight some of the amazing modes we see surface once Custom Seas goes live. Please expect to hear more about that over the coming weeks and months.</p>
<p dir="auto">As well as unleashing our community leaders and creators to go host amazing events and experiences, Custom Seas is also going to provide all players with a brand new opportunity to <em>play</em>. The keys to the seas are being put in everyone’s hands, and from Thursday, your blank canvas servers await. Want to level up your #SoTShot game with a free camera? You can do that now. Want to practice PvP and naval combat? Go nuts. Just want to use <em>Sea of Thieves</em> as a digital hangout for up to 23 of your nearest and dearest? That’s immediately on offer too.</p>
<p dir="auto">It’s worth noting that Custom Seas has marked a fresh approach to developing content for us here at Rare. We shared our ideas earlier than before, brought community leaders and creators in to the studio to road test and ideate with us, and have tested various parts of the feature in Insiders much earlier than we have previously. This is a feature we’ve wanted to build with our players, as well as for our players – and that doesn’t just stop once Custom Seas releases with Season 20.</p>
<p dir="auto">We know that this is feels like an early version of the toolset landing in retail. That is intentional; we want to get this into lots of players’ hands as early as we can, so we start developing the toolset with as many of you as possible. Because while we’ve had a set of signals from Insiders and creators that the feature is heading in the right direction, we know there’s work to do to give you a broader set of options and capabilities.</p>
<p dir="auto">This is where we want to be clear: Season 20’s release is not the end of Custom Seas, but the start. We intend to continue building out tools and features with you all from day one, and we’re committed to learning and learning at scale once it releases in live.</p>
<p dir="auto">We can’t wait to hear what you think, and we’re so excited to see what happens when we hand over all these tools and possibilities into your hands. Tell us what you love and what you don’t, what you’d like more of, and what you’d love to be able to do. We’ll be listening keenly and planning behind the scenes, with a goal to share with our development priorities for Custom Seas in the coming weeks.</p>

<p dir="auto">give us tools to play. to see places. to access everything we can offer ( i understand disney stuff is likely a no but no excuse for the rest ) and have in depth story content possible. we have models. we have animation. you have the abilitys with cut scenes we been getting in season 17,18 and 20. give us these tools to allow causals to have fun. and story tellers to tell more storys. would be a game changer for this mode.</p>

Last ship standing takes place in the pirates life tall tale 1 area and that's confirmed for custom seas so my hope is that POTC stuff is coming down the line but hey maybe the GMU will show up soon with massive ships and I'll forget all about it. Ghost ships we can't spawn either or use quicksail on. There are 3 Skelton lords that we can't spawn. 5 if I include the coral version of the gold hoarder and stitcher jim as an ashen lord. We can't spawn Flamehearts skull or any og tall tale items. We can't spawn any in game props or objects. I'm talking mostly about the set dressing stuff that would be cool to use for decorating or conjuring up new structures. The more custom seas becomes sort of like forge mode from Halo the better.</p>

We shouldn't have to speculate. If someone asks where is he shrouded ghost they should be able to have a dialogue and answer that question. It's just weird to draw the line at not being able to spawn that but within seconds we can spawn as many chest of fortunes, chest of legends, box of wonderous secrets, etc as we want. Just feels like a bait and switch the average person is going to see them market this with the keys to the seas tagline and think hey I can finally spawn this and the they open it up and it's like nah you really can't do that much. I was trying to spawn a meg inside of the legends tavern and couldn't but theirs a whole body of water their so it should work. Just struggling with stuff to do with this for the season. It's great for messing around but as a solo your kinda just screwed at the moment.</p>

<p dir="auto">I was one of the first pirates asking for this option. I just wanted to be able to  play with friends with two or more crews on two or more ships. And I was a bit overwhelmed when I got into game. I know UI for creating a server that hosts a game must be complex, but that's the art of making a good UI.</p>
<p dir="auto">I was puzzled with other options. Spawning a creatures works like... ermm. instant. And it spawns them near me. I frankly expected some map where creatures will be spawned. And honestly it could be really crazy. What if I spawn numerous octopods, megalodons, skelly ships around some island which is infested with skeletons, to get to some amazing treasure. So far, I don't know how to do it.  I am not even sure I can call friends to make 2 boats naval battle.</p>
<p dir="auto">PS. on the other note. Why haven't Rare team, used the tools at their disposals, and create a fun and amazing events I mentioned. I feel Rare always look at this game as pure PVP.  Despite me not liking PVP, it just needed a few tweaks to be success. Just delete adventure and sailing and roaming around aimlessly for PVP and create a endless war and battles.  Log into game, chose PVP, pick your fraction, go to battle here on a map you must win the island.</p>
<p dir="auto">Take notes from World of Tanks..  World of tanks would be kinda weird game if tanks roam around giant world and meet each other, sometimes engaging in battle, sometimes making friends, sometimes fishing alone. hey?</p>

<p dir="auto">But going forward, I think it would be a good idea to shift focus towards making a true private server experience available for Custom Seas - no commands or spawning of items, full gold, full reputation, commendations, captained ships available with the same invite-only format that Custom Seas has. If Rare is going to give players the tools and means to make their own experiences, then it should be more robust than it currently is.</p>

But i know every single person there at Rare is REALLY talented and sure custom seas is REALLY FUN but most of the player base does not want it, so the only thing you have to do Rare is listen to the community.</p>

I know this might sound stupid, but what if there was an island editor tool you could make. Essentially my idea is that this would enable players to build their own island from the sea up and terrain edit and detail it however they'd like. Maybe players could even build structures on it with cannons and whatnot. This would really change the way that custom seas work and might be a bit out of the intended bounds that Rare has, but I still think it would be fun.</p>
