Safe zones is a bad idea and so was safer seas to some degree. Fine, Safer Seas in it's current form for learning the ropes and for families and Tall Tales, great but real Sea Of Thieves is High Seas let's face it.

Are you terrible at PVP? Are you afraid of losing all your loot? Are you more of a solo player so the odds are always going to be stacked up against you with larger ships and crews?

Listen to me! What if I told you that you don't have to be good at PVP and STILL enjoy High Seas?

I don't play Hourglass super often and when I'm solo I very seldomly start conflicts with other players. I'm 280+ on servants and 150+ Gof and most of that was earned through solo HG and I've been rep 500 with the reapers bones for a long time and I don't consider myself particularly good with PVP, I'm alright, I can hold my own, better than some! You don't have to be a wild double gunning crazy gold skelly sweat to play SOT and enjoy it.

Be a smuggler! Sneaky sneaky! Avoid others! Keep your eyes peeled and your head on a swivel, always have an escape plan! After awhile you start to enjoy getting chased 😂

I do love the black powder keg, I want a life sized plushy of that thing to sleep with lol

Yeah, sometimes sneaking onboard someone's ship while it's unattended and stealing stuff and rowing away on a rowboat is more fun than sinking them or blowing them up... Well maybe not more fun than blowing them up with a black powder keg but still fun! It hasn't happened to me in a long time but when it has, its been kinda funny 😂

I'm on the offensive side of sneaking. So, tucking, rowboating, etc. My crew will certainly brute force a steal if we have to, but in general if we can get a steal without using our ship, it's much more fun.

One thing we've always said is, if someone doesn't want to get their loot stolen, and are willing to put the work in to avoid losing their loot, it's almost impossible to prevent it. Rowboat plays, hiding keys/loot, diversions, etc. All are viable plays, and very difficult to counter. That cat and mouse game is what, to me, differentiates SoT from any other game out there. It's one of the reasons why I'm not a huge fan of safer seas. I understand if you just want to sail around and enjoy the beauty of the game. But if you are on safer seas to avoid conflict, you are missing out on the best part of this game. The OP illustrates this perfectly.

Sounds so simple, its amazing nobody can do these things. Because it requires "work"
