The fact that new players have the same weapons as the old ones is what makes SOT a unique and balanced experience. Changing that would just ruin the meta against new players!

So once everyone has all the meta upgrades. That becomes the norm until a new player joins and has 0 of it.

With how Easy! It is to earn gold…those upgrades would have to be in the billions.

aight aight that's fair, but I feel like being able to buy ship upgrades, an extra cannon... walking boots, special harpoon ammo... SOMETHING tuff: would make this game feel really nice to play, and be much more immersive lowk.

No thanks. Experienced players that have the gold to spend, would have an unfair advantage to those who are new, don't have as much gold, etc. and where would be the fun in that? "Yeah. Must be nice attacking a new player with 5 cannons, since you clearly need it, right?"

Everyone would just buy all the upgrades, and the new players will be at an even bigger disadvantage.
