<![CDATA[Let Us Become Mermaids in Sea of Thieves!]]>

Hey pirates!
I’ve never been very active in the game, but there is one feature that would make me take to the seas for good: becoming a mer!
Even if it’s only temporary—being able to explore the ocean, do underwater‑only quests, discover the merfolk world, cause trouble for pirates, and so on.
The Sea of Thieves ocean is gorgeous and totally deserves to be explored in depth. :)

This is a request that’s been made tons of times, especially back when the game was first being developed, almost 10 years ago now! I still remember that Comic-Con 2016 video where the team talked about a pirate transforming into a mermaid… Incredible! It’s a shame it never happened.
But now that the game is almost a decade old… maybe it’s time to dare to add something really new?

@thermeo5112 this sounds like an absolute nightmare, just being able to yoink loot off someones boat and disappear into the depths with absolutely nothing they can do
swimming kegs across the map to fotd underwater seems a little op as well

I could see it as part of a tall tale or something, but otherwise it just wouldn't fit the game

@thermeo5112 This seems more like an RP thing than a SOT feature. Maybe when private servers will be allowed...
