Sure did.
I mean the name is just my Gamertag, but yes there is some backstory floating around my head for my Pirate.
To the dismay of my Crew, i love to blame all of my blunders and lack of skill on the quirks of my Pirate.

I don't because the name of the Pirate is your gamer tag and the backstory is the adventures on the Sea of Thieves you come across. The idea when you're creating a new pirate they are only just starting to learn how to be a pirate, and as you progress in the game, you make your own backstory if your own pirate.
