I say with the introduction of safer seas on December which doesn't have bonus gold hours or events at all put an end to gold rush hour altogether. Make that bonus gold just an added bonus to playing higher seas to make the item value gap even larger to add more incentive to play normal. Having a 1 hour window twice a day that loot is more valuable just makes some people hoard and it is even such a big problem that people would try to min/max it on bonus gold weekends since it used to stack so they eventually stopped allowing gold rush hour during bonus events.
