''Why use many word, when few word do trick''

You have to set a useless button to open text chat, but is a really long and uncomfy way to communicate. i suggest to use a mic, in this case, nothing can let you do that exept the microphone

What could be nice is if they EXTEND the pre-written pirate chat options

There is no way to say goodbye, or give any indication of what activity you'd like to do

@typicalink500 no worries, it’s in the settings. There’s a ton of settings for this game that people don’t notice.

Oh, is that text chat using the xbox's digital keyboard or do you use an external one? I'm asking because i thought you had to connect a keyboard to your xbox to be able to chat

They can.
Get a chatpad and bind key. It a well known feature in many other games.

You can bind one of your Dpad buttons to text. I have mine bound to up on the Dpad.
