There should be a way to communicate with your alliance members while you both are very far from eachother.
My suggestion is to use post pigeons so the game wouldnt be so modern but there would be a way for my topic.
Thanks!

I think they should get rid of the rewards and add these types of qol features to alliances.
I don't take issue with people cooperating or coordinating or being peaceful I take issue with the counter productive and contradictory rewards in a risk/reward environment.
Alliances would be more interesting in this game without the gold rewards and with qol perks where people can create interesting piratical scenarios instead of just cheese fests.
Should be an entire rework of how alliances are incentivized imo not just adding more perks to the already extremely lucrative system.
We have gold and glory and community day, cheesefest alliances already have their time and place, stick the gold to those days and non gold perks for the rest of the time imo.
@szabopeti008 was literally just thinking of this while mowing the lawn. Messenger birds and ship borne rookery.
Write a short message and attach it to a tube on the bird's leg. If you have 3+ ships in the alliance you can point out to the bird on the map which ship(s)should receive the message.
The message could have the in game date and time it was sent, which could be checked by the receiving crew on the pocket watch.......a small bit of synergy with an existing game system.
The greater the distance, the longer it takes for the message to be received. Perhaps the bird could be visible flying on the seas if the servers could handle it. Maybe even be intercepted by another crew.
Give the bird a very distinctive chirp when it arrives at your ship and enters the rookery, so the crew knows a message has been received.
The upside for role playing and overall immersion that a small QoL feature like this would bring.........I'd love to see it.
@habiki Bump that exactly.
Yes pls..
Let us communicate between alliances. Without disturbing the immersion.
If the server cant handle the bird flying ide say.
Get all in the alliance a parrot on the ship that one can interract with.
With either a text or a standard couple of massages.Wrrraa... Wrraaa. Incomming message. Incomming message... Brig says meet at plunder outpost..Wrraa.
Alliances are broken enough, they don’t need messenger birds. @wolfmanbush’s idea is quite good, but just straight up giving an even bigger buff to alliances is a bad idea.
I wont agree. I go to a fotd or a fof with a ship doing it, and alliance with them and let my friend be on ship while im afk having a cold drink. They do the hard work for us, and when the time comes, we make them keep loot on their boat, and when all loot on their board with me and my mate, and the other 2, we 1 blunder them. Then i go to our ship and cannon and sink them. Then just with a emissary already raised, harpoon the loot and do a thieves haven run for more loot and get grade 5.
Easy@scurvywoof to be honest, this isn't really a buff to alliances. A dedicated alliance has plenty of tools at their disposal for efficient communication outside of the game systems.
If anything, using a system like this would be a bit of a handicap compared to some others like party chat or discord, since the communication wouldn't be instantaneous and limited to a short message.
The immersion is what I'm really thinking about here, and the potential for rogue crews to intercept communications.
@scurvywoof I'm normally opposed to alliance buffs. But, provided that these pigeons take time to travel across the map (and don't just teleport), this doesn't seem like it would offer any sort of useful buff. More of a RP-type addition to make organic alliances more interesting.
If OP was requesting separate alliance text/voice channels, that'd be another story. But carrier pigeons? Lol.

If you’d of mentioned that, I wouldn’t be as much opposed.
@theblackbellamy
Fair enough. It’s not like Alliance Servers would use them… not that you can find them anymore. They’ve made sure they’re ‘fun’ can’t be interrupted.@scurvywoof if you check my initial post in this thread, I did mention other crews potentially being able to intercept the messages.
Sending a parrot/bird would be really neat. Let's say each square on the map adds a 30s-1min delay on the message and you can only use a few words in each message. Would also add the dynamic where other ships could see the "messager" travel across the map and in that way maybe follow it and setup a ambush or simply wanna join in on the alliance!
@habiki Ah, must have skipped over that part.
“ Maybe even be intercepted by another crew.” 👀
Consider it seen
