Especially if you have larger crew, it's a no-brainer to send endless boarders to try grab all supplies and harass the other team untill you die... and even if you die, you still get all the supplies.

What I suggest is that if you kill another player, he drops a lootbag for the time he's on ferry. This way there is chance to get back whatever supplies were stolen instead of them being magically locked and transfered to other team through ferry. I believe this would somewhat help smaller crews. Also if you board another ship, you would have to make the choice of either jumping off and taking a merm back to take the supplies to your ship, or stay and fight with the risk of giving some supplies to other crew.

Any thoughts?

Seems better defense of your boat is in order.

Though, your idea would help me get back some CCB if they manage to run off with because I can't pocket them all..

Even for 4 man crews, I would argue a boarder grabbing some supplies then getting killed is mostly a waste of time, only really a productive board if they took someone else down with them or could seriously distract for a little while.

A more elegant solution than the IMO clumsy lootbag idea might be just implementing a ~1 second interaction timer for accessing inventories of ships that aren't yours, that way grabbing supplies would be more cumbersome and get you killed a lot.

if people are stealing supplies during combat that is a good thing. Keeps the fight moving along.

a long fight leads to less loot production but also all a long fight in this game has become is a carpenter simulator where people just repair with piles and piles of supplies while trading ferry rides with the other crew

get those supplies low, someone win someone lose, and everyone move on
