There are too many hitreg and high ping issues for this to be an eSports title.

Custom servers (no progression) are coming so that will allow for private fights.

After the Arena debut, Rare admitted to outsourcing Arena to another studio. It is not, and never has been their passion, like Adventure.

Thought I'd clear something up: I know that Rare stopped working on arena, but that doesn't suddenly make everyone stop from playing. There are plenty of people who still do and that in itself would make it worthwhile.

There are many people who still play Arena, and I've mentioned the Sea of Champions and Notorious Arena League already, both of which are professional organizations who are still active to this day and prove that there are enough people in the world who are even willing to spend money to compete and watch others compete in arena.

I also would say, I agree that combat in SoT needs a lot of work. But my counters are these: First off, as I mentioned, plenty of people still do it professionally anyway for actual tournaments to win thousands of dollars, and therefore it has to be worth SOMETHING. My other counter is, if League of Legends can attract enough people to make it an Esport, SoT definitely can lol.

I think the OP is going to have to find another way to play SoT in his high school class.

Combat in SoT is too wonky for serious Esports participation.

@thathappyhat the thing is all development for arena has stopped, it is kept in the current playable state but no future development will occur. This has been stated by Rare themselves.

@blam320 I disagree. Plus, it wouldn't necessarily matter how many random people play it if you have enough dedicated people who DO.

It's not that it's ""disorganized,"" literally nobody plays Arena mode anymore. It's redundant, and more people play it to farm kills than to actually win or complete objectives.

@aribalam I'm starting to think "custom servers" is just Rare's hilarious follow-up to the Shrouded Ghost

@aribalam I think he meant custom servers for arena alongside adventure. Currently it appears that it's just adventure being supported for these.

@aribalam Yeah I know, I mean maybe if they did the same thing as they do with NAL and SoC.

There's always solo queuing! Should be easier now that Arena is a bit of a mess.....

They are currently testing custom servers, but those are locked to partners.
