That's why I dig in large areas of grass or sand - it ensures accuracy.

Well, not entirely wrong. I'm sure plenty of people are doing it wrong.

I'm personally fine with this idea. We can already purchase basic Supplies, I see no reason why Bait shouldn't be included in that. It is a Gold sink which can help with the game economy (much like the other supplies), it is really no different to other Supply purchasing, and it speeds up another style of play (again much like the other Supply options did). Those who don't feel they need it don't need to worry about it and can still acquire stuff for free (much like I personally do with all Supplies as I can't bring myself to personally see a point but don't fault those who do now that it is here).

That said, I could see taking an approach similar to supplies in only making one type of Bait able to be purchased (similar to how you can't get all Food or Munition types). As such, it might not end up being a solution for all things but at the same time can get you generally Fishing faster if that is your thing.

@almtychcknpoo I’d like to see how it is you are doing it. I’ve never spent 40 getting bait. Perhaps there’s an island where it does not work?

@illbushido305 that's not true at all. I have dug in the grass time and time again only to get either nothing or grubs. I am talking for a very long time one day even. Just because you aren't having problems, it doesn't mean you can backseat game others who are actually coming across the issue.

If you dig in the grass you won’t get grubs. You need to check more spots because I can load a barrel with an assortment of bait types in ten minutes buy digging around.

Yes you can dig it up but if someone wants to buy it, let them.

You can buy supplies and you get those free in barrels everywhere.

Seriously. Don't be lazy. Just dig it up. It is readily available every where.

@trueapollo It shouldn't take you 45 minutes to get bait. I can get 30+ in ~10 minutes.

@burnbacon you’re… you’re gonna complain that with all the other stuff you can buy (which I mentioned nothing about), that literally the one thing in the game that can’t be used against another player or to hurt anyone is too far? Lol bro, you do you. But don’t assume anything about me (IE laziness), I dug up earthworms for 45 minutes today for my fishing trip. Could’ve done a vault voyage, opened the vault and turned all the treasure in in 45 minutes. Seems weird to complain about something that has no effect on you.

First buyable storage crates (and such)

I always reply to these ones when they come up, but +1 for sure. I think I made the first suggestion post when the crates first came out and I still think it would fit perfectly.

I wish they wouldn't have added supplies that could be purchased really not a fan of that in the game but since they did that bait just makes sense

it's by far the least issue of the bunch. It doesn't change rng and it's doesn't affect risk reward or the environment around the fisherperson negatively so yeah of course this has a spot in the game now

Fun little story about bait. When I was about 8ish maybe 9 a friend and I caught a coffee can full of scorpions to use for bait at a little pond we used to sneak over to behind the church for some nice bass and bluegill. The coffee can tipped over in his mom's car and all those stingers got all over the car. A bait strategy gone horribly awry. I think the important thing to look back on here had everything gone as planned with transportation, how were we going to bait the hooks? A mystery that to this day always makes me question a lot of my ideas.

That aside, it wouldn't be a horrible idea. They could rotate baits sold at seaposts from region to region maybe.
