The name still suggests it is Isla Tesoro from APL TT3... or at least it was.

It could very well be an island they used to test out features internally and will never make it to the game. Or it could be something coming in the future that we're not meant to see - let the theories go wild about what "SOD" stands for in that case and the "Treasure Village" might be.

It's definitely not Old Sailor Isle, at least not as we know it. Though I wouldn't rule out (again) an early test build for the Maiden Voyage.

As a side note, BehavingBeardly recently had the bug on stream. His thoughts were possibly Sea of the Damned as well.

@d3adst1ck it’s certainly a new island. It’s full of bright green grass that isn’t in the Sea of the Dammed. It’s probably another one of those slip ups that happen sometimes with commendations coming in early and stuff like that. We’ll just have to see what it ends up being used for in the future.

My guess is, based on what looks to be a fortress or town in the lower left part of the land mass in the reddit thread linked above is that it's one of the tall tale islands from TT3. Fort of Lost Souls or Isla Tesoro maybe?

They might have just reused a base asset, like the Maiden Voyage island, and then changed features and rotated the island as required. Since there is no map on the table while you're in Sea of the Damned, there wasn't really any need to care about making an entirely new island.

Here is the old post. They had just a clear map with only the strange island after a tall tale.

There was another post about it weeks ago. I believe they were accused of photoshopping it.
This may be an interesting glitch if someone can figure out how to exploit it before the remedy.

At the time, they were treated with a bit of scepticism, but your post actually backs them up as legit. Seems like a very rare bug indeed.

Yea i can't find any now either, checked every forum tabs on this page and stuff.

Ohhh well i screenshotted them myself so haha....we've got them on my GF's stream as well so it's all legit ^^

Hmmm, i haven't seen anything like this posted and i even checked the forum beforehand....but alright sorry for a "double" post if so.

@realstyli I'd definitely agree the SoD is in reference to Sea of the Damned, but whether or not its really supposed to apply to this mysterious island, and what this was from I'm unsure of.

In fairness, I could be way off with my guess about them being from the Sea of the Damned also.

It's just as likely, if not more so, that they are placeholder islands for future content, perhaps seasons away. Maybe even a new region to visit via the portals. This Reddit post shows a better look at the "Treasure Village" map. Looks like a lot of buildings on it.

The second one possibly is labelled something "camp"? Though it does seem to be multiple copies of the first island.

If not Sea of the Damned, I do wonder what SOD stands for though?

That’s not what Old Sailor Isle looks like (google a map)

the first one is one copy of the maiden voyage island overlayed on the island, the second one is three copies of it, rotated different ways.
