A Pirate’s Life really hit the sweet spot with Tall Tale progression. The arbitrary requirement of multiple completions was replaced with much more meaningful exploration goals and I really loved that.

Now they just need to find a good way to give it more repeatability and they will be perfect.

I agree the 5 times was probably overkill. At this point they either shouldn’t change it at all, or if they do change it they should throw a little extra bonus out to those of us who completed it at the original 5 times goal.

@luciansanchez82 my experience doing them I didn’t care if I had to do then five times lol I just did it cause when they were first added they were awesome and still are just the spark of playing them for the first time is always awesome.

Even as a beta player who got pl in the end of 2019 around November I believe
The tall tales are the best part of this as the story is so cool and I can’t wait for more.

So getting to play it over and over again means you get time to look into stuff that you never saw before as the detail rare puts into the game is awesome even 3 to 4 years after launch it’s still a great game.

And no one can argue with that

Trying to fully complete all commendations in the tall tales is too much of a grind, specifically when you have to play each one 5 times. It’s just way too much. It’s difficult to find the time to try to complete a tall tale so many times, and I am sure that completing the tall tales would be a much more enjoyable experience if we only had to complete them 3 or less times. Tall Tale 1-9 x5- Rare's first attempt at TTs and people said too much

Tall Tale 10+11 x3- Rare's second attempt, these were great imo because the Tall Tales were short and sweet and the Heart of Fire is even better as it has 3 routes which are different so each time has variance.

@shortpilot94465 back in my day a pirate had to do each one 5 times from start finish without the luxury of stopping half way through.

The "complete 5 times" requirement only applies to the 9 tall tales that were added in 2019. Rare realized that requiring 5 completions was excessive and has scaled back for subsequent tall tales. The two Flameheart associated tall tales only require 3 completions, and the newer PotC-themed tall tales don't have any completion # requirements.

@wolfmanbush exactly, you can just do a little bit of one when you have time to kill. I was re-doing one the other night, and got tired, so I just logged off, I can pick it up anytime at the 3rd checkpoint no problem.

While it is a bit of a grind, a couple of things to consider. The tall tales can have minor variations that make them unique adventures each time having to go to different parts of the map. Also, it adds an incentive to do them again with another player who may have not completed it yet, you'll make progress even if you have all the other commendations in the tall tale. They are more fun and easier with a friend or two afterall.
