Been spending a bit of time lately in arena and have run into a lot more of these TDM/ achievement farm groups than previously. Perhaps because the communication block has scattered them about a bit.

Personally, i dont mind the "free win", except that a lot of these"groups" of players will actually seize the chest and prevent those not taking part from getting points or the win either. They actually force the non participants to attack the groups at the fort, in an effort to score some points and then respond by trying to sink them near the timer, so as to zero their points and put them last, so they leave.

Its one thing for them to defend themselves, but to group up and to control the chest and points like that is a really nasty way to play and i have seen it quite a bit recently.

This is just my opinion but the arena got stale after only one major update, the tdmers found a way to practice their hand to hand combat, and change arena up. Now im not a tdmer (im terrible at it) but i do respect them cause they managed to "update" the arena for themselves and spice it up. As of right now if you want to win you just need to cannon farm a boat, no navel needed. Now whe im in a lobby i will navel the whole round with the chest aboard (not selling unless needed) but the tdmers i leave them be the most part out of respect cause they are sacrificing their wins to pvp each other. Now the part where i go and interupt them. Lets say their are 5 ships in the match, 3 are tdming and me and the other are going for the win or just navel. We sink them and they leave, now yes we can call it an easy win from their but i am there to fight, i will go interupt the tdmers cause i know they will band together against me. Wich is more fun imo, yes i win some and lose some against them. But i wont mess with them unless they are the only ones left. I hate the no communications cause i was the guy making others sing wreckingball in the lobby or just talking about post game stuff. Yes there are bad eggs out there using gamer words but rare also gave arena players an imgame list of who all is in the match, of coarse majority of the reports are coming from the arena, adventure all you can do is either catch their name or hope they are in your recents (wich was never acurate to begin with) what they cpuld have done is have everyone muted by defualt with the option to unmute. Now my matches are just "going through the motions" cause we cant chat with other crews. Not very sandbox to me. I can get if they mute it in the match itself but atleast in the tavern let us talk :(
Edit: also new players cant comunicate and get confused on what to do in the arena and the seasoned players cant help them now, been a few times ive had to explain to someone how the arena worked in the lobby or in the match itself. Now i honestly thinky new players shouldnt be allowed in the arena right after madian voyage but thats my opinion. Now those new players that get into arena get no help from other cept their crew (wich might also be new) and the seasoned players cant explain how it works

@d3adst1ck true, we tried getting into arena(sloops), to give it a shot(this was before the coms ban) it was pretty fun, till we got rammed and spawn camped repeatedly, we didn't really want to scuttle because we weren't far behind 1st place, the crew that was 1st noticed that we're getting camped and came to help kill the tdm crew that camped on our ship, so from what i could get from that match, was that some, not all, but some tdm players will force others into tdm if they don't have other tdm crews to compete against.
Which i can agree is a bit of a downer. I don't mind tdm at all, i just think some players do go beyond to enforce it upon others in arena, or so from my experience at least

@expsnailer Apparently my browser does not show images in these forums then. I was able to find probably the one you meant via quote text, that just says banned for teaming, nothing about what is considered to be such. Still the count for what I have been able to find all day about bans for teaming in arena remain at 1 with this. Search results for me show only people asking if teaming is allowed or not but there are no clear answers to the question in any of them.

@lukadra Thats literally the first post I found with one google search I have seen others previously. Also yes it did provide pictures, scroll down. There is enought people who don't know echouther saying the same thing with similar screenshots to know it's not some troll. I'm not doing anymore research for you. If you still dismiss it cool, again message me if it ever happens to your or your friends I could use a good laugh after desperately trying to warn random people about it. Other than that, if your still not sure if I'm just BSing you or not, look around. Plenty of post on the forums history will show you how many people have been and continue to be banned for it and with that information you can convince the fact that it will continue to happen ❤️ gooday friend, hope you find what your looking for.

@expsnailer I have not seen pictures of such conversations? So far only the one post you linked which didn't show me any images, has to my knowledge inlcuded any mention of "banned for teaming in arena". One forum post is not really convincing. I've been looking for rules throughout the website you so kindly linked earlier, searching forum posts, even tried something called google but have failed to come up with really anything that would support your claim.

@lukadra I've already explained how TDM is fine but also how TDMers team to maintain their TDM (which they boast about).

Your asking me to prove its a rule, yet Rare just like their other ways of disrupting their community decided not to list that rule. So what do we have to prove it? Maybe people talking about it happening to them or others, the pictures they provide of conversations with Rates support staff. But to you that proof can be dismissed as potential "trolling". No proof will satisfy you, you want Rare to say something, I'm not Rare, I'm just some random guy who has friends both in real life and online that have been banned for it and someone who after seeing them be banned did some.... Wait for it... RESEARCH 😂

@expsnailer You still havent provided any sort of actual proof. I am not intrested if you care about teamers or anyone else, I care about having clear rules anyone can follow if the other option is to get banned for something you can basically end up doing by someone elses definition of the word.
Why would teaming up against someone else be bannable?
I could understand if someone is boosting their levels or stats by having multiple crews doing it on purpose and only for that reason and got banned, but I clearly wouldn't call that teaming, maybe someone does, and that is why it should be stated clearly.

In any case, TDMers are constantly fighting each other so calling them teamers doesn't make any sence.

Tell that to the support team after getting banned. One last time since it not getting across yet, it's not LISTED as a rule but you will still be banned for it. Why isn't it listed? Who knows. But the games mods still banning for it. I could care less about people teaming in arena 2gallions vs my solo sloop barley stand a chance you think I care about some teamers in arena when I have a crew 😂 facts are tho people are getting banned for it 🤷‍♂️ like it or not it's not listed but still enforced how oddly funny this entire conversation is, the one time providing proof of the something can't help get a point across almost as if "facts" no matter how solid are still left to the objective interpretation of the reader.

I didn't make or agree with any made up "house rules" but I assure you this isn't one of those fake rule. Real people have been are still and will continue to be banned 🤷‍♂️

@pvekilla420 I agree. I think we need comms back for sure in arena. This is a reason sure for tdmers its probably very important. Anyone who shows lack of sympathy even for tdmers in this comment section is the problem. SOT is game where you can do what you want. In adventure can steal, do missions, and look around at your scenery. You can even hunt sharks of different colors and do crazier things like parkour on the outposts buildings. Arena is the same way. You can shoot other ships to win you can turn in the chest to win you could do both. You can take the chest and not turn it in to allow only naval battles to happen. You could hide on the turn in boat to steal the chest. You can go to islands within the bubble to look for ancient skeletons or just to chill. You can use your boat for bell practice instead since arena ping is usually better than adventure. There is no rule you must follow a objective in Arena. You fools who sit on your self-righteous chairs of judgement and criticize posts like this do not have a place in this community. He even explains he tries to tell them to go away or help them join a tdm and they do not spawn camp without warning. You are worse than the stream snipers who spawn camp in this game.

@expsnailer Why are you comparing gravity to game rules? It's not like I would even get banned for it since Im not teaming but still, if it's supposed to be a rule it needs to be clear. Can't expect anyone to follow a rule they have no way to know of.

No. I personally know and have seen many questions on the forums about why people have been banned for teaming in Arena, it's not a listed rule so sure bros, do as y'all want hit me up if you get banned tho I could use a good laugh. Funny thing is me and alot of the people who are telling you guys your wrong don't usually agree, maybe that because most post are about opinions except this one isn't 🤔😂

I don't think it's us who isn't getting something. A thread in forums isn't rules. Anyone can make any claim they want on the internet, proving it is true is a whole another matter.

@expsnailer I don't see any rules in there, just that someone claims someone they know to have received a temporary ban for "teaming", no explanation to what that is supposed to mean or what it was about. If it was an official rule in arena it needs to be clearly stated in game, not having to search for topics in forums. That could be a troll thread for all I know as well.

Now that I think about it I actually have my messages set to friends only so that can be an issue but its worth a shot anyways. I think Rare maybe made not best choice in removing the chat but thats just my opinion of course.

I didnt know TDM'ing was so popular on a game like SOT, I mean its not Modern Strike.

Hopefully when private servers come out people can load in and TDM to their little hearts content. I do think its rather silly to remove game chat, I mean if one did not want to engage in it they could turn off player chat, why take it from everyone?

Also cant you get the gamer tag of the person you are spawn killing for trying to play Arena the way its supposed to be played and just message them via xbox app? I mean yeah people may just not understand what you are doing , especially if new.

"Do some research," yeah, it's probably best that no one takes your word for it.

In the link you provided, feel free to browse the code of conduct and pirate code under the community tab, for any mentioning of "teaming" before you start lecturing others.

If we're not teaming for a win or teaming to prevent your win, what reason do you have to ban? It's not like we're ganging up on ships from the get-go. We're minding our own business at the fort, getting our meager 10 points at a time.

When interrupted, it's my choice to camp a ship, but I can't speak for what anyone else on any other crew does. If they want to camp or shoot cannons at the ship, that's up to them.
