Same here, i was about to buy the game, thank good this error make me avoid waste money.

Same, having this issue with no real response for what seems to be months now is quite insulting from the devs. Y'all need to provide some info to your people, it seems like you really don't care about the multiplayer aspect of the game by not addressing this publicly.

I still need help with this Greybeard error, it's been 3 months. And I still can't play open games. I have already contacted support, but they said to wait for updates.
Is there any way to fix this error?

A small Sea of Thieves game update is available to all PC players from today. This is designed to help us track the current Greybeard errors and determine a fix, so we would ask that all PC players install it when they get a chance. Thanks!

The error's are still occurring. OPEN CREW is completely not functioning due to these errors.

I played Arena ONE time. The first and last time to be sure. It took a little over 5 mins to get into a match and I show up ALONE and when the match started the boats jumped all over the map and they were in the sky, I was on the boat and in the water all at the same time then I was dead, over n.over n.over n.over again. Finally at the end of the match a player joins my team and solidifies my choice to never play Arena again without a top notch internet connection. The tiny bit of money I made was quickly squandered with their lack of help and their getting killed more than I was. So, internet connections.. lol I should get one. Because playing this game with PVP in mind with my current setup is just pointless.

Actually, I can join other crews !

While looking on the French Dicord Sea of Thieves I found a person who gives a solution to this problem in arena.
The manipulation to be done is:

• Put the mouse on closed crew
• press escape and enter at the same time
  You can then click on "raise anchor" and once you arrive in the tavern put your crew on open.

• I don't know if this solution works for console players.
• sorry if the translation is not quite correct.

En cherchant sur le Dicord Sea of Thieves français j'ai trouver une personne qui donne une solution pour se problème en arène .
La manipulation à faire est :

• Mettre le souris sur équipage fermé
• appuyer sur échappe et entré en même temps
  Vous pourrez ensuite cliquez sur " lever l'encre " et une fois arriver dans la taverne mettre votre équipage sur ouvert .

• je ne sais pas si cette solution fonctionne pour les joueurs console .

This "fix" worked for me ! But once in-game I cannot open my crew :'(

Good to know im not alone.

Installed Sea of Thieves from the Game Pass on PC. Have never been able to connect via matchmaking, always having the 'Greybeard' issue. Have raised a ticket with support but havent heard anything back yet.

@xd-toom i guess that makes sense, i did download Sea Of Thieves from the Microsoft Store, with Play Anywhere.

Im guessing evrry single person bought the game from the microsoft store and none of you play on console. The reason it's taking so long for them to fix it is because it's not a "sea of thieves" problem it is something wrong with the fileswhen you download it from the microsoft store and they will have to contact them to try to fix this issue.

The same here, It's like this since 08/28, when they had a connection problem in the servers, the support does nothing and anything that I try seems to fix it.

@one-eyed-curly yup me too, no Open Crews in neither Arena or Adventure, i am from Mexico, by the way.

been having the same problem for over a month on and off. Australian here. Any fixes in the works a reply from someone in the know would be much appreciated

Same problem, i haven't been able to open crew either in adventure or arena for about a month. I get a Greybeard anytime i try.

Same problem here, tried disconnecting/reconnecting Xbox app, the game, computer etc.
Can not play open crew at all neither arenna nor adventure.

Here is the answer of the support : "Our Test team is aware of this issue and are working on a solution."
I hope they will solve this problem, i can't play arena since 1 month now..

I've just had a quick chat to everyone in Australia, and can confirm that we are all having the same Greybeard issue when attempting to join an open crew of Arena or Voyage/Open World. Cheers

I have the same error when trying to search for an open crew, Adventure or Arena. I'm from Brazil.
