if i get a pc copy can i play my xbox pirate on it?

I bought SoT on my XBox and was able to download and install it on my PC without having to purchase a second copy. I purchased the game through the Microsoft store, so it was available on all my devices. I just headed over to the store and downloaded the game.

Everything on my PC is identical to on the Xbox - same pirate, gold etc. I can switch between either platform when playing. The other night, I spent an hour on my PC playing and then later switched to playing on my XBox without any problems whatsoever.
