That's not how software development works. Unless someone can look through the code, they aren't going to get any help from a random forum user if they say what the problem is - the problem itself is probably a lot more complicated than a forum post would be able to convey.

true. But the random forum user can help the dev point out the problem and tell what scenarios lead up to this problem. Which can help them kind of have a theory and narrow down a few options right? IDK i dont code.

To dive a little deeper on above. I would love to show the devs how to play as a sweat to show insight but I feel like they couldnt give a **** about the individuals themselves (but they care about the tourneys). I would love to show them the bugs ingame while trying to recreate them. I used have many friends who would submit support tickets on bugs whether thats main or insider build but they will still remain 6+ months later. So, the people who can really help point these things out feel like they are ignored. So I feel like the only way they will open up again is if they reach out to whether its the best PvE players have a few crews in mind or the best PvP players (which you can choose based on the partnered tourneys). I just wish people who won tourneys can talk to devs about the state of the game since it is extremely frustrating to be in the dark and not seeing hardly any improvements. Even so when that community expects you to play again and win.

But like what insaiity said then they should be hiring better programmers that are more qualified dealing with a multiplayer game. Which Rare really hasnt done except for co-op games. Even so when they just made so much cash from Steam Release.

I've talked to other programmers from other games who play this game and we came to an agreement that there is so much spaghetti code plaguing this game. Which is why I said they need to hire a small team to start combing through rare's mistakes.

I have shown all the points on what bugs and how it effects during gameplay to explain why I say no, above.

Except your percentages are garbage and totally wrong, and I have a minors in math and physics so don't try to con me with your hand waving. There are FAR more things that work in this game that you do not give credit for compared to the few things that do not. The game functions as intended much, much more than you try to claim. Your continued hyperbole is not helping you make your case, but rather making it hard to take you seriously.

I understand where you are coming form. The only problem I see with dedicated games that only go for one group of players is that by doing so they lose the money and exposure from the other group. That's why this probably won't happen anytime soon.

I know you are not into twitch an all that, but twitch and e-sport and competitiveness is a major selling point and a very good way to advertise your game. That's the reason why highly e-sport competitive games do so well and always have high player counts.

I too sometimes enjoy unserious games like survival games or stuff like humans fall flat or pummel party, however, and this is only my opinion, I think games where a major aspect of the game is pvp and where you can loose a lot of work by being not so good at pvp, will always evolve into being competitive, just because no one likes to lose his hard work or lose against others.

No. It means that you notice it more the more you actual fight. If you only have a decent fight once a month then obiously you will only experience hitreg problems once a month, but if you fight more often it happens to you more often. That's why especially arena players or hardcore pvp'ers absolutely suffer from that.
Also that only adresses hitreg. The other bugs are all not server related but just bug in the game. (The sail, mast, repair and cannon bug).

No actually it's not a waste. If people start to speak up more often and more loudly then they might just finally do more than just say, It'S A kNoWn IsSuE or accept that they themselves are unable to fix it and ask others for help, maybe from bigger companies or other experts.

No, because by the mere definition of "non-functional" means that it doesn't work....PERIOD. While this game does have some issues, it is still functional and working - it boots up, runs, plays and rarely crashes. Sounds pretty functional to me and everyone else that plays it week after week, keeping it among the top 20 played games on Xbox at any given time.

Yes I understand all that. But literally everything I said above is common knowledge to the sweat community based on bad hitreg. Most sweats don't know any of the naval bugs which only the naval sweats know. There is a divide mostly toxic towards each other which is naval and tdm sweats. My crew hovers in the middle since we are the best at naval and we are def good at tdms. I wouldn't say the best tho.

However, my hitreg could differ primarily since I try to play on East although I am on West. I would never say this IS the reason why this happens to me. The only difference is the how far the desync is on hitboxes. People rubber band and teleport just as much for everyone's Pov. But the rubberband is based upon the player who is rubberbanding's internet.

The reason why I play on East is because the broad amount of the playerbase IS on East NA. Also that is where the sweat community base its self at with tourneys. The best EU sweats also only play on East.

To compare ping difference. My ping on home server is around 60-80. Central is 80-110. East is around 120-160. Big gap away since anything can affect it. Whether that's naval, PvE spawning, or even multiple people spamming shots at each other.

From what I know about other players. The average is the same for everyone as for me. But, there is a few amount of players who benefit from living really close to the servers such as Seattle for West, Dallas for Central, DC for East just to name a few. These player can be from the lowest at 20 ping to high at 40 ping at their home servers. These players should always win every sword fight.

Based on experience with these players the have a weird desync happening to them. I haven't played against someone who had a lot of skill with this low ping in a long time to fully explain how their "lag" works. "lag" since they arent really lagging its more like weird hickups coming to your end that's unique to that type of player.

Anyways I know I'm the same as the average since streamers usually average slightly higher than me because they are streaming. That is why they turn off ping or block because people who understand how ping works based on the amount and knowing their location can decipher which server they are on to snipe. I know this because I used to play with a streamer all the time, but we didn't care if someone sniped because they would usually always lose in a fight.

Im known to tank in the community for sweats who have played against me. I had my minute of fame against pace who said I was a hacker since I tanked a lot of shots on a Central server which didn't make sense to me. Since he is east and I'm west but it was a bad server which was like 220 ping on a Central so... I have never had a bad server like that since then though. Alright at least in only adventure. People tried to get me banned but he never showed my name, it was also cleared up with him so nothing came of it.

The reason why I'm known to tank is only because I'm a West player against East. Anyways the ping is way too high for this game.

Plus I read someone saying there is data that this server can tank to 8 tick in combat and that is just unacceptable. I would expect that server to be on a cool math game website not a AAA game dev owned by Microsoft. Which rent their servers to Playstation

Only 1/4th of naval combat works? You only register 50% of your shots? It's certainly not that bad in my experience.

The hitbox is the player. The only reason backtracking exists is because it's the difference between where your client is showing the player and where the server has recorded the player. The game client uses predictive movement for everything so that players moving around aren't jittery and teleporting between frames of data coming from the server. In most cases this looks smooth, but in major latency it will "correct" the out of sync bits by moving them to where they should be. This is why ships float into the sky or players teleport around the boat.

In lower tick rate games this will be more common because each tick is data being updated. More ticks equals more updates which equals more accurate positioning. It's also much more expensive to run servers with higher tick rates. Is it possible to increase the tick rate for Sea of Thieves? No idea, although I imagine the low tick rate is in part due to the extra simulation that the server has to run each tick.

Other simulation games run into the exact same issue and generally have a much lower tick rate than a competitive FPS which only has to worry about player location. Space Engineers has always had problems synchronizing all the floating space ships and other objects, especially when players enter the mix but they are still making improvements to optimization 7 years after release.

It may not be possible to get the tick rate for this game up to the level of an FPS, and if it is I don't think it's going to be overnight.
