Yeah I know recording is always good. Not only to observe others, but yourself as well. I just didn't record for some reason at that time, don't even remember why.

I now stream though, for the last 1 year or so, 2-5 hours every single day, almost without exceptions. So if I see such people again I of course I will clip and report them.

Its possible then. Set up your record that function so you can grab clips. Get in the habit of recording even suspicious activity so that you can watch it later. Surprisingly I learned a lot about the game and how the mechanics and glitches work from watching clips I recorded from suspicious players. Then I would realize its not hacks, just the game being stupid lol.

I'll run into MAYBE 1 hacker every 4 to 6 months. I try to play every day for at least 5 to 6 hours as well. I think I've ran into maybe 4 or 5 total since release of the game?? So thats 4 or 5 in the span of 2 and half years? Not bad. The most recent one was in Arena about month or 2 ago and that was clear as day lol.

My crewmate and I tested to see if they were or not and yeah it was bad. They would shoot off to try and board so my crewmate would hide in different parts of the boat and while the guy is in the water he shoots through the boat and hits my crewmate, EVERYTIME. We would get hit from outside character render distance and killed by sniper. Once or twice I could believe possible skill wise if I'm at the wheel. But we would stand on different parts of the boat and see if we would get hit and sure enough we got hit and killed. Weren't even close enough to hear the gunshot, our characters would just take damage. I even had my crewmate go into the crows nest and lay down, sure enough got shot outside render and died. He'd get hit, "Yeah I got shot" 2 seconds later "yup they killed me". In the crows lol.

Their cannon shots would hit us from max hang time range. We would go straight parallel with them from max distance and we would group up on different parts of the boat and sure enough even with the waves bopping our ship up and down he would hit 100% of the time. The cannons would fly for about 4 to 5 seconds in the air and always hit the boat. For a second I thought maybe he was just really good with the cannons until I realized that he hit every shot. Most times even if the player is good from long range, the waves would screw some of your shots, so you might hit 3 out of 5 consecutively, this guy hit all 10 every time from max range even against the waves.

I mean this guy was BLATANTLY open about his hacking lol. The account has been banned from what I can gather. Recorded the clips, uploaded it, gave all the information I could.

Even when I was sure he was hacking, I made sure to follow him for the next 4 games getting tons of videos and reviewing them just in case I could have been mistaken. With all the stuff going on for all I know I could have been going against the best player in the world.

Rare and Xbox takes a hard stance on hacking and will drop the hammer. Just have to make sure you have proof and detailed information.

Are you sure it wasn't the skeletons shooting you? There really isn't anywhere you can hide on an active fort where the skeletons won't find you. Even if you hide on the rocks behind or in the water, skeletons will make there way towards you and shoot you. Some of the islands if you try to even hide in the towers the skeletons will walk towards the edge of the island and shoot you.

Negative, just because he says "hacks" doesn't mean we need to wait to hear him out or even believe that there were hackers involved. He didn't add anything to his story, just said hacks thats it. Chances of it being hackers is extremely low first off, secondly most of the time when someone comes in here with a day 1 account and then starts screaming hacks, usually means that they ran into a good player.

Sorry, but I'm more inclined to doubt a persons claims of hacks if all they give me "they hacked and I lost" without more information and even then I still have doubts depending on the type of player this person is. PvE players tend to scream hacks agianst PvP players quiet often.

He needs to give more info and more proof.

The OP did speak for himself. They told us everything at the beginning. However, they don't have proof that it was a hacker, so it is very hard to prove it. If the OP would respond with how the suspected player/hacker, then it would be a lot easier. Never once have I called him a liar. It's just hard to decide if the player is salty about losing all of their loot, or if it was a real hacker.

Also with wallhacks, just randomly shoot somewhere until the hiding place of the tucker is next so you can claim that you just did your usual test routine to check if someone is tucking at your ship.

It was likely snapping the player's view towards him to shoot, and possibly snapping back to the skeletons if he had NPC aimbot activated. It won't override the animation.

Well, the OP doesn't have proof, and it sounds like a better player by how the OP described it. If I saw a grade 5 emissary raiding a fort, then yes, I would go after the emissary too.

I've seen a hacker once since I play SoT (not day 1 but about an year and a half).

I sneaked on an active fort while some crew was doing it. I tucked unnoticed almost at the very top, and was ok for several minutes, just observing how these guys were doing the waves, and waiting for my chance to strike.

But at some point, one wave spawned outside, and the guy who went out to do it started randomly throwing shots EXACTLY at me. He couldn't see or hit me, because I was behind some wooden planks, but his hack was aiming right at me. After that I searched YouTube and actually saw how it looks and works. It was exactly the same as what I saw. Nomatter where you aim, so long as there's a player on your screen, the hack locks onto him when you take the shot.

there is a lot to learn about the game and hidden knowledge.
if someone manages to board via harpoon for example.
you wouldnt expect that as a beginner and someone popping up on your stern would you maybe think of someone hacking?!
Same for beeing DG'd or doubletapped, wb'd etc...
You just dont expect this to happen if you just have started the game!

Many glitches/ exploits can make others fell they got cheated, thats why Rare removes WB for example.

edit: i also think he didn't meet a real hacker, but someone exploiting maybe or so good at the game, he cannot understand what happened.
Voicing him down makes him quit desperated. Not welcoming!
Taking him serious giving advice what to do or explaining him what happened if he explains what happens in detail can help him to improve and is welcoming him.

Sure it still can be a fake, a sour loser never coming back. But then ignore it, because we dont know and there is a 50/50 chance it's a legit complain we may can help out to feel and understand the game better. And there is still a chance he encoutered a real hacker and even has proof of it!

I'm here for over two years and yeah some topics make me tired too, i ignore them.

Actually it's the SAME Game. There are good and bad experiences on both Xbox & PC. There are both PvE & PvP Both on Xbox & PC. Regardless of the situation. Switching to Xbox only doesn't magically just make "bad" experiences go away.

If someone is actually "Hacking" which can be done on both Xbox & PC if you have certain Software, then Yes it absolutely should be Reported as there is no need for this in ANY Game.

It's not a fake account, and by quickly checking his gamer tag on the Xbox app you can indeed tell this person has played other games also on this account.

So @Benjyboy151369 has had a bad experience on the seas and decided to visit the official forum to express his opinion, granted, it could've been better explained to us all. But it wasn't and we have little to go on..

if he has proof he can report - thats what i suggest is a good advice.
If he has not he can try to explain what happened and we may can analyse it and say that wasnt cheating or we can say: that sounds fishy, sad you have noo proof of it to report.

to voice someone down, because you feel its fake is not very welcoming.

Even if it is a fake, i would not make such a comment andpredict the bad, i would just ignore it.

A "Hacker" Sees a Reaper Emmisery Boat doing an Active Skull Fort, who waits till they complete it to get all the loot on board to get grade 5 and then proceeds to Sink them and steal the loot and sells it. LAWL.

So he sunk your ship while you were away or what? Not hard to do.
If it was ship to ship combat or kegging, how could you possibly even cheat there?
Similar for PvP, even if someone uses an aimbot, none of the weapons are automatic so I guess absolutely hard to prove or to be sure that someone is cheating.

Also bear in mind that camping near a skeleton fort until another crew comes to raid it is exactly what people like this guys you mentioned are doing all the day. So expect this to happen even more often when you're planning to raid the next fort.
