Would a server ever be launched in South Africa? 219+ ping is INSANE.

Agreed, even tho we don't stand as majority of the SoT community, this will surely increase the South African SoT community, I have convinced 4 of my friends to buy the game during the Steam release, the 220+ms made it difficult for them to stay when the 1st encounter in pvp occurred following an unfortunate sunk with a "git gud" comment by our unfortunate rivals, alas I love this game so much and would like nothing more to at least have a chance when someone boards my ship, but for now i have no other choice to either run and stay at cannon range with avoiding boarders.

I am also desperate for some South African Servers as well. Have actually stopped playing as much recently as PvP is almost impossible on 200 ping and loading from mermaids or safe teleport can take double or triple the time occasionally.

It would be awesome - myself and 3 other friends love the game but the ping makes PVP very difficult to not get camped.

Agreed, Azure does have datacenters in South Africa. Don't know why there are no SOT servers hosted there though. It makes PVP near impossible when playing at 200+ latency. Would love to see some local servers.
