"You" (all these people who bullied on newbs, tell them uninstall, spawncamped, trashtalked, etc), yes you are the reason of alliance servers existance.

There are no learning room in SoT, no skill matchmaking, so people who enjoy the game but don't want to be trashed just made a friendly environment to do things with other people who thinks alike.

The game is not designed for that, i agree and i don't like it, but since im sitting here for 4hours watching SoT streams after last time we sinked, my GF don't want to play anymore bc we are not playing to entertain some edgy Brig/Gally crews, and i don't feel confident enought to solo play against them, also, my chances to face someone soloing like me with similar skills are pretty 0 in case "HeY BoY GeT GuT LuL".

I could go to one of these friendly servers, but i dont' feel like i get better on them, but i 100% understand why people go play there.

Don't blame alliance servers now for free farms, every time you sinked new people and loughted on them you got "free farms".

@khaifx well....Reapers wouldnt find you as easily, and wouldnt be as incentivized to attack you, if your not running an emmisary flag. So theres that reason.

Why wouldn't I? There's zero reason to run without flags anymore because 700 per item (outside of DR) is an awful payout.

Is it true Reapers can see all boats on the map? If so they need to remove that because as a sloop player (not always solo), I've already been chased by brigs and galleons endlessly today because they have no other purpose other than to continue the chase. It's impossible to win against brigs and gallies now, mostly because of the revive system and there's no reason for a brig or gally to tail off and go and do something else because the sole purpose of reapers is PVP. Basically, this entire thing has turned a cooperative game into a toxic wasteland, with some calm maps if you're fortunate. Perhaps I'm just unlucky today with the relentless pursuers?

This would not have been an issue if scuttling the ship changed the map instance (since scuttling is intended to help if you're frequently getting bashed in by PVPers - but now the map is full of PVPers its purpose has diminished). I've recommended that they make scuttling swap maps way before this update, but now with this there is even more reason than ever.

@cptnpotbeard Yeah..I'm sure I'd have to grind those out near the end of the month...I just think they're so boring! I'd want more of a challenge with different enemy AI than mindless sword swiping/cannoning graymarrow on the edge haha

It doesn't matter anyway. Alliance hand ins DON'T count towards ledger

What you're seeing is probably a guy who's either farming his friends, or back to back to back dead server, uninterrupted FoTD, and refusing to sleep.

I'm literally master rank, 3 mil ish on the ledger in hand ins just playing average and only really doing Reapers bones as its been fun and interesting with awesome ship cosmetics, and I haven't been in a single alliance, haven't done a single voyage for chests, haven't been farming anything, just sinking ships and taking over a fort we sink someone at here and there... Even if I was in an alliance.. they wouldn't affect me, since they dont count anyway, plus.. I'd still have to sink them for their flags for the huge payouts.

Grade V flags literally hand in for 20,000 or 25,000. Hunting is exactly what you should be doing. I couldn't care less if its a sloop with their crew on an island. I'm taking that flag. It's hardly bullying...

If you do things like this, at the end of the day, your pixels are different color for "winning". Perhaps your name will be on the ledger on top, for.. a month.

You see people posting on facebook about the fun they've had last play session. People no where near your rank on the board, having fun, and you realize fun had left for you long ago.

You realize just logging in to repeat for digital points.. is no different than clicking a mouse game.

You quit playing all together, looking for a new game that will bring you fun..

Maybe years from now you will remember the time you got that sail, or first place one time by cheesing in a game. Not with a triumph, but with a lingering loss. All that time.. gone.

Dude, all top positioners are alliance players....im not surprised at all.
They should be able to give those awesome sails to people who are fully 75 or even further when that happends.

People been telling Rare about this for ages, just like cheating Rares response is. Its less than 1% of the playerbase who cares lol.

I just wish there was a set value we had to reach..because looking at some of them (reapers mainly) it's at around 20 Million

past two sessions I've played for 2 hours each and Have reached Masters twice but I know next session i'll be at Keeper

I could careless about leader boards, do not even bother looking at them. Usually the top score is always some stupid silly number. Have you ever seen the GTAO racing leaderboards? Some people finish a 8 mile race in like 45 seconds lol.

For OP and anyone on the misinformed bandwagon agreeing with OP that alliances are the issue here... alliance hand ins don't even contribute towards ledger...

Not sure why anyone's even got a problem with this... I haven't been in a single alliance the past 2 days and I easily cleared master rank for Reapers Bones... didn't even put down a single voyage. Sink one ship and take its loot and hit grade V 10 minutes into joining the server meanwhile the only other Reaper on the map has been at crooks hollow and snake island for the last hour and have only managed to go from Rank I to II... its the players own fault, they're not losing out to alliances that don't even contribute to the ledger in the first place...

Level 50 in like 9 hours over the last day and a half just from sinking and stealing flags and loot, haven't dug a single chest, smashed a single mermaid, or done a single voyage and it's put me easily in top tier without even caring or focusing on the ledger...

This is an individual player motivation, skill and efficiency problem.. not an alliance problem..

Why are people crying about this again?

"gain loot from the entire server" Only in REP and GOLD. Not in the ledger. The ledger only count points your crew sells. So besides that they will be fast higher level (Although on the first day people were 75 without any alliancing) there isn't really a ledger bonus besides not being attacked.

And even if alliances didn't exists, these guilds (or clan/discord servers) will still do the same thing, take over a server to be safe from attacking.
