Are the hacks back?

3 nights playing, and 3 nights encountering crews/players who never miss, can find you no matter where you are/spawn, can shoot through decks and never miss, one shot you from the other end of a ship with a blunderbuss. Finding ships with 6+ players onboard, players dont die when gunpowdered.
I know there has always been a few players who cheat, but since the last update there seems to be so many 'questionable' encounters

@aggy67 If you suspect dodgy behaviour, issue a report with supporting evidence.
I doubt anyone is going to respond to this thread with "oh yeah, I've recently reactivated my hacks because lel".

@l4chsfps very true mate - i just wanted to know if other players where having similar issues. We have captures and screengrabs with gamer tags.

@aggy67 I doubt that there would be a noticable difference in the amount of hackers after the introduction of the recent update tbh. There were no changes to the anti cheat system, rare haven't changed their stance on hacking and the game was also not on sale (at least afaik), which can sometimes cause a surge in trash accounts used for hacks.

shooting an swording though the wooden floor/wall is a thing.
Nothing to do with hacking, everyone can do it.
but lets say someone have a aim-bot an wall hack, then you are royally F.but it's easier to do on a Brigatine or sloop.
when spawn camping, the load time for you to get in, they can take a shot an get a reload in, specally if you are on X-box
But most likely that it's 2 player shooting you as you load in.Have had some questionable fight, where I hit a sniper shot an 2 sword slash following up, Normally they would die, but for some reason this one didn't.
That can have something to do with hit registration. -

There's no surge of cheaters but the knowledge of the "wall bangs" aka shooting through decks is starting to spread. The double gun reload cancel exploit is another thing that's becoming popular because people can macro it to make them shoot both guns almost instantly. So no there is not much cheaters but more people taking advantage of exploits.

@ruigtand-nl hit reg seems really wonky, I've had couple shots taken at me that were like this. Starting to wonder if having a hit scan would be a better option for weapons. Would suck since travel time and bullet drop no longer would exist. But I feel like would fix getting hit markers and no hit.

What do you mean "back"? There's no such thing as hacks. And if there are it's probably just a very rare occurrence, and probably a console player who couldn't get good.
If you don't post video we have no reason to believe you, you're just here because you got beat and can't accept that someone was better than you.

Amazing how I am on the seas all the time and never come across these hackers. I must be lucky. Playing....
In all seriousness. To be taken seriously with all of this you really need to post some stuff for context. Can't come on the forums expecting people to really get where you coming from with just some text. You can already see some people on the chain that just exaggerate and are salty because a pirate got one on them.
But,
- You can shoot through floors and even walls. If you are decent you will even learn key areas of that.
- Depending the on ship, decent players will understand the spawns very well. On sloop this is pretty easy, gets a little harder the bigger the ship.
- Hit boxes are interesting, learn them and use them. I can hit 90%+ on my sniper shots all day, even with someone jumping around. You just learn how to use the weapons you have at hand. There are some godly players out there.
- Blunder will not one shot you from across the ship unless you have some low life. I agree it does get some distance at times, but you must have had low life.
- Gunpowdered has been alert in the past, you would be surprised how much you can live from a blast if at a right spot. (How could this even be cheated?)
- More people than expected on a ship... Does this really need to be explained? I have had 12 people on one gal before. Sometimes people like to join for rides.
Just cause some are really good at the game or know the mechanisms really well, doesn't mean they are cheats. This is such an old story, I even hear this like once a week cause people just assume cause you might be better you are a cheat. So yes, context is really needed for post such as these.
But, as all have said, get proof and report. All you can do IF (massive if) they are cheating.

Hit Reg is horrible right now.
Seeing Pirates taking 6 + shots with snipers (from two players) in the water is a bit much. Even I have taken to make shots from players. Big gripe on the forums right now.
Seems to be getting better, but way to unpredictable these days.

They never left, it never got fully fixed, and since the last update, yes, I'd say they are back in full force.
Reporting them does nothing, and if it does, you'll never know because you'll say the next cheater (all PC players) was the one you reported.
Let's hope this joke of an OPT OUT fixes it. If your on PC your just screwed.

@savagexxxone yeah, there are good players, and I have come across some awesome players, but when you are below deck and a player shoots you before they have gone below deck to see you are there, and each shot hits the mark, there is good and then there is hollywood :)

Here is my issue with this. There are many factors here that make this game. I would really like to see some context here in video and understand your machine, circuit and even time of day.
Why I say this is because you could be experience sync issues or latency. There are plenty of instances in games where a player with better connectivity will see you before you see him.
Even then, not sure what ship you were on, but if I am on your boat with another guy, I will hear you spawn and know where you ended up pretty well.

This cheating thing is so tired. I'm curious if people realize how weak it makes them sound.
Nobody is cheating. There are plenty of players out there who work on taking advantage of any and all available exploits. They work on that stuff all the time, until it becomes second nature. Double gunning, wall banging, x-cancel, etc. Nothing wrong with that. It's part of the game, until it gets patched out.
Stop whining and play. Figure out ways to counteract their advantage. I've gone against superior 1v1 players with my crew before, and come out victorious. Not every time of course. But it's possible. Work on the things you can get better at. Sailing. Cannons. Strategy. Gunpowder!

Surprised this hasnt been locked yet. Despite what these nay sayers on the forums say. Yes there are cheaters running rampant right now, go play some arena & you guys might get a clue. Check your player history & compare achievements with these players & you will see all their achievments in this game are from same day or yesterday, they are always on a new account. Meaning they get banned alot or they know the risks of what they are using & are playing on fresh accounts to protect themselves. Half the people saying there arent any cheaters simply dont play enough, have a alterior agenda like protecting the innocence of the PC community or are simply delusional & dont know what they are looking at when they see it. Im not going to discuss specifics because ive been banned doing that previously but you sir are correct there are cheaters. You can already guess which platform they come from. I play PC & Xbox so dont give me any Lip. I KNOW!!!
I can easily name specifically what is being used but thats against forum rules & would get me banned, been there done that. Not doing it again. Its funny so many people are in denial about what cheaters can actually do. If they allowed the modders to design sea of thieves for even only a day. The people claiming there is no such thing as a cheater would be in utter disbelief.

I have almost all my arena commendations done, yes theres 2 out of 10 matches ill run into a player who doesnt matter how i move or jump or run or how far, he will hit me flawlessly, almost terminator style, at first I reported a few, got me absolutely nowhere and well I just deal with it now, If i suspect a hacker I note his name and just restart the lobby when hes around, its hard to prove they are hacking so the truth is this: anyone, even SOT devs can get their hands on the public hacks, and them they can patch them, I used to love programming dlls a long time ago and injecting them just to learn programming but here theres no way i will do that Now because of how much money and effort i put into the game like to end up banned for hacking.

I am not saying you are wrong but you have nothing to back your words. I am on the seas a lot, prolly too much, I see nothing but shiny seas, loot and sinking boats. I guess I am just super lucky.
What I am in utter disbelief is people that continue to post this with nothing to back it. See these same people on Streams claiming everyone is cheating cause they lose a few battles.

No one is saying they don't exist, we just find them quite Rare. I've been playing since day one, still have yet to experience one. Maybe I'm just stupidly lucky, but I can't relate to any of these types of posts.

Do me a favor go search this topic on youtube PLEASE!!!! Check out channels like hack tutorial. After that come back & delete your ill informed ignorant post. I would gladly share the links with you. I would gladly share my game clips with you. Just not here because its against the rules like ive stated above. People like yourself are so dense. Maybe you dont run into these types because you are still digging up seafarers chests & doing tall tales. When everyone else is competing in the arena

@troubled-cells it always worked that way behind the screen. The "slow health going up after eating" is just a visial effect and made no difference.
