You haven't dealt with hackers as much as you think. PC players don't believe there is no advantage, they beleive the advantage is minimal which it is. The game can be balanced to help mitigate the issues and we would all be happy campers.

I got a chance to play with a very aggressive player once and my crew didnt like him but I asked him a lot of questions and what he said made sense.

I asked why he is so happy spawn camping people and he said for the reaction and to see how far he can push someone. He said he found it confusing that people believed that scuttling was somehow giving in when it wasn't. I asked if he wanted players to scuttle and he said "doesn't matter really." The longer they prolonged their own suffering the funnier it was because they were doing it to themselves.

A lot of peeps will avoid scuttling because it's shameful or because they don't want to give the spawn camper the satisfaction. The spawn camper doesnt see it as a "win" when you scuttle they see it as you finally deciding that enough is enough.

Short version, if you scuttle because of pride you are acting like a child prolonging your own suffering. If you accept you lost and scuttle then you win because you acted like a adult

Few things that appear to mind when you board another ship. You can't really steal it so why even try to "commandeer" the ship? They aren't better than you if you stand by someones door waiting for them to come out and bash their heads in with a baseball bat. Cowardice is what it is. Afraid to fight like good old pirates, sword to sword, ship against ship.

• You might as well Scuttle.
  As all good things that is so far only option at this point for these types of pirates. All that time to stock up on supplies for some adventure, wasted.

I wait for the day, when consoles can Opt-out and leave pc players in there own seas. Console players as I have meant rarely if at all do this. Due to the "Black screen" loading times.

I whole heartedly agree! This cross platform stuff is bull. PC players have a distinct advantage over consoles and it's destroying the game, especially with ones who are downloading hacks and trolling for fun. In my short time in this game I have dealt with cheating players more than a handful of times and it's getting old. Never mind useless people like the ones defending spawn killing as being ok.

@triheadedmonkey friendliest game? Then how about we do something about the people who use cheats and such to annoy other players who are trying to have a good time together. A fair fight and sticking to the pirate code is one thing, but you're community is becoming toxic and you're going to lose a lot of support for this game!

Pretty sure you know this is not why the OP made this post or what anyone is talking about here. Spawn killing to finish off a ship that is sinking is not a problem. But spawn killing, just for the fun of it, after a while, is just poor sportsmanship and against the pirate code.

Maybe, but it is poor sportsmanship. Especially given several factors, not the least of which is knowing where people spawn and killing them before they can even counter. That is not superior tactics, just abusing a bad system.

This makes me laugh. There is clear evidence that PC players do have an advantage over console players. It is just a fact. How much of an advantage depends on many factors. People that take joy in simply "winning" over others that are at a disadvantage are just sad. Now, if you create that disadvantage because of superior tactics then so be it. But bragging about, while telling someone to "get gud" knowing that even if they do you still have an advantage says a lot about a person.

That's not true, when you spawn just move to the side and turn yourself into the action, it requires just a few nervous brain cells.
