The weapons are not overpowered

  • People say the blunderbuss is overpowered it is actually very balanced, here’s why

Sword- 6-10 hits and when a player is hit they can’t move for a little, the blunderbuss counters that by knocking the player away from you or just sending them to the ferry

The pistol can counter the blunderbuss just by being a galleons length distance away, there it can take anywhere from 2-3 shots to kill, and it reloads faster than the blunderbuss. From that distance it can take the blunderbuss anywhere from 3-5 hits to kill. The eye of reach is an overall good weapon but takes 2 hits to kill from a distance and is hard to hit players with because players will constantly be moving and because of the drop of the bullet, and is only good against people at long range because of the time it takes to reload.

    Just saying

I personally use the sword and pistol

    To clarify damage

Cutlass - 5 slashes, or 2 charges, or a charge and 3 slashes to kill.

Flintlock - 2 shots to kill.

Eye of Reach - 2 shots to kill.

Blunderbuss - 1-10 shots to kill (varies with number of pellets that hit).

    C+F - 1 shot and 1 charge, or 1 shot and 3 slashes.

    C+E - 1 shot and 1 charge, or 1 shot and 2 slashes.

C+B - varies with amount of pellets that hit.

    F+E - 1 shot each.

F+B - varies with amount of pellets that hit.

E+B - varies with amount of pellets that hit.

    Cutlass - 20 damage slash / 50 damage charge.

Flintlock - 50 damage per shot.

Eye of Reach - 70 damage per shot.

Blunderbuss - 100 damage per shot (10 per pellet).

Just thought I'd let you know because your numbers were a bit off. 😅

  • @galactic-geek
Notably, the blunderbuss fires 10 pellets at the listed 10 damage each, and players have 100 health.

  • @galactic-geek yeah I don’t know exactly didn’t look it up just based on experience

  • @mcgarnaglewolf Also EOR is realistically better than pistol. I prefer pistol but I cant really just use it since EOR tends to be more versatile. I still switch to pistol when I can guarantee I will be in places that are relatively confined. EOR is actually only worse than pistol at close range because you cant hipfire. Quickscopes are quite easy to get good at but are easier to counter than pistols. I agree with you on the blunderbuss. I hate it because it is the thing that tends to kill me when I let my guard down and am not jumping as crazily as normal with the sword so that 1 noob is lucky and manages to hit me. Oh well, that is my bad. I have started to use it and have noticed that the main problem with it is that I tend to (and notice other players doing this when I fight them with it too) start using it as a main weapon and stop moving as erratically as with sword so I can easily get swarmed. Thank you for explaining how the weapons are balanced (except sword, cough cough, please make that require a bit more skill, I can see how it can be used skillfully but imo its a bit clunky and should be reverted to what it was like at launch)

  • @jofjjay Honestly, I think the EoR suffers at mid-range due to its longer time to ADS. This is particularly noticeable when running away from, and trying to snipe gunpowder barrel skeletons. I still prefer the flintlock for its versatility, accuracy, fast reload and ADS, and lower velocity (which makes it great for use as a flare gun). I save the EoR for sniping swimmers, underwater fights, and blowing up stowed GPBs up in the crow's nest.
