While I understand your want to have those sets, it wouldn't be a good idea to add them back in.

One of the aspects of this game I have come to love is the exclusivity of certain in game sets. I love the wailing barnacle set though I do not have it.

Having sets that are more rare gives the pirates who worked hard for it something to flex. I think the solution to appeasing those who want these sets so badly is to introduce more limited sets that look great in comparison to the black dog set etc. Same goes for ship cosmetics like the Wandering Reaper and the Mercenary.

While I think there should be a good time period for people to earn these things I would expect a time limited set to stick to its original point.

The game is focused mostly around cosmetics for our character, that it what we get for our hard work getting gold and loot. Taking sets back that were time limited and exclusive would devalue every other set that holds that prestige if you will.

I have the ferrymans set, black dog, and a handful of others but I paid through the roof prices to get them. The onyx 4 back that is very highly sought after I cant ever find. I found one on ebay for $9999 and its just not within the range of possibility. Yet I do love the fact something is this rare in the game.

@chronodusk I'm of the view that we should have different colours of everything as standard. I'd expect the unique detailing on the jacket to stay exclusive. Perhaps also that exact colour. But the shops deserve different colour options for most regular stuff. I mean how is there still no red bandana? Practically the most iconic pirate headgear after a feathered hat, name one pirate tale that doesn't feature some scruffy fella in a red bandana at some stage? And here we are 18+ months later with no bloody sign of it except in promotional material. Sure there's a green bandana, skeletons get all sorts of colours, but us multi-millionaire pirates? Keep dreaming. It's a bloody disgrace! We should have so many more clothing options in the shops by now. If fitting them to the variety of pirate sizes is the issue unleash the recolours I say. It'll tide us over for a while and eat through some of our gold hoards until there are new styles and such.

I pre-ordered the game to get the Black Dog stuff. It better not come back. That's all I ever wear.

Ehh... I don't think it should be done. The entire set is already comprised of recolors...

The Jacket of course is a recolor of the Mysterious Stranger's, The Hat is just the Corsair Sea Dog Hat with different colors and the Ferryman symbol, the boots are a "generic" set of boots that can be seen laying around outpost shops, just assigned the matching color scheme for the set, and the hook is a recolor of the Rouge and Ruffian Sea Dog hooks.

The only things crafted specially for the set were the weapons, so the only thing that really makes the clothing unique is the Ferryman symbols on the hat, Jacket, and Belt. I really wouldn't want to see that slapped onto a another recolor of these clothing articles.

I think the Black Dog pack should never be re-released. People who received this pack were incentivized on a pre-sale purchase through these cosmetics alone, so it would be more than a little shady for Rare to go and re-release it after already getting what they wanted from us out of it...

I know you didn't mention the Ferryman controller exclusive, but I'll also just say that I think the Ferryman set should always be exclusive to the controller as well for the same reasons. I love my controller, but the exclusive set was a big selling point for that as well and part of the reason that the controller is so coveted - it would be shady and underhanded for Rare to re-release it now that all of the controllers are pretty much sold.

An unfortunate side-effect is that people are able to re-sell the codes for obscene prices. But again, everyone doesn't have to get everything... There are few unique items left in the game and I think those of us that have these sets should retain our uniqueness.

The Ferryman outfit is the real rare gem, you very rarely see anyone flexing that. Fun fact - the jacket is a recolour of the mysterious stranger's coat with a nice unicorn broach on the lapel.

Black dog is way more common. Pretty much everyone who played at launch has that. Even folks who didn't get the Launch Crew EoR because they left after a couple of days.

Either way Rare have said they wont be re-releasing them. Black dog was a pre-order bonus and Ferryman was the limited edition controller.

The Mercenary outfit was available for a while, that's a Black Dog recolour that I think looks pretty sweet. I think that might be gone now too.

Silver Blade ship is another Black Dog recolour, but I'm not sure if the clothes will also be or if they're going for something different.

I think your best bet OP is holding out for a Black Dog recolour in Duke's shop. I wouldn't support re-releasing either of those sets, but recolours I'd be fine with.

The people who preordered will protest just as loudly.

@tre-oni while i do understand that, i kinda ferl that anyone who played day one should also get it. Its practically the same as preorder. Back when i got the game, i never knew it existed, or i would have preordered it.

Ferryman, and I assume blackdog are a few of the things Rare want to maintain the integrity, and limited aspect of.

Black dog was given as a reserve bonus before launch, so it's kind of one of the few rare value sets, and with that I doubt it'll come through tbh.
