GreenSkull stream with Devs. Tons of info.

  • Info worth mentioning...

    • Big skeleton ships battles to remain after Cursed Sails event ends and be a permanent addition. Skeleton ships will also appear out of nowhere like the Meg as well as be seen just sailing about minding their own business.
    • Cooking and fishing... sounds like it.
    • New things to do as Pirate Legend and things to earn coming this year.
    • Pets coming up.
    • Probably no huge social hub or town, but possibly a place for players to show off the things they've earned and meet other crews.
    • Rewards for killing the Kraken and the Meg incoming.
    • Shopping experience to be improved right after Cursed Sails.
    • Ship naming probably not coming until ship ownership, which is on the backburner for now.
    • Finding animal crates will be easier after Cursed Sails.
    • New things to do with the mermaid statues being explored.
    • They want to make exploring underwater a bigger part of the gameplay.
    • New outfits coming. Ones that gel with the theme of Forsaken Shores incoming.
    • Looking at ways to add new weather conditions.
    • Quest types for the 3 factions to be diversified with new things to do and new ways to play. Primarily the merchants because they realize it's awful.
    • More activities to do at outposts and on the boats like gambling.
    • Ability to change the ship type without changing the server being looked into. Would require a lot of work.
    • They're looking at ways to kick players to stop griefing within your own crew.
    • They're seeing ways to make possible to equip more scars at once.
    • They're going to reintroduce and expand the history of old npc such as Merrik and Salty.
    • They're looking to polish the UI of the cosmetics to be able to save outfits combos.
    • They want to rebalance the spawn rate and/or the reward for the crates soon.

  • This is cool but I'd really like to see plans where they want to modify the Kraken and Skeleton Forts...

  • Cool. Sounds like we almost got us a game. I'll check this game out again around new years

And you can still be among some of the most dedicated and hopeful for this pirate game, and could have been here for the past 2+ years pouring your heart and soul into giving ideas and spending hundreds of hours testing the game for free and people with the “it’s always good enough” or “I distance myself from negativity even if it’s based in truth” attitudes will write your in depth opinion off with a 10 word comment lol... even though if rare did make this game have a diverse amount of content and used a bunch of the ideas they were given they would be praising rare.

Having said that based on the last few streams and the comic con thing I feel like they are finally getting the message that they need to start working on a lot more for the game. An emphasis on improving the merchanting specifically is good to hear, but simply increasing spawn rates for crates isn’t what is needed. We need to be able to use skill and knowledge of the game world to produce merchant commodities based on effort and free will, with teamwork and the skill of the activity and knowledge of the world increasing efficiency and therefore profits from merchanting. The alliance system
should be reworked so that merchanting and pvping make sense in a pirate theme. There need to be incentives to help merchants and incentives to sink them, etc. beyond just players deciding that. There should be tangible reasons to weigh decisions, like maybe we attempt to sink them in this biome because when you sink a merchant ship you can’t sell to that areas outposts, they would need to make the voyages a ship is doing affect the game. Like if your doing a merchant voyage It would designate your ship a merchant vessel or something.

  • @amancebacabras Thanks. Adding to the list.

  • "equip more scars then one"

I dunno, I feel like he said they deliberately chose to make it how it is, and don't have any current plans to change it.

  • Giving crews an option to kick? I certainly hope not. Now I have to watch to hear the context it was mentioned in...
