We took a skelly fort and headed to an outpost then we seen a galleon show up right out of thin air i kid you not. we fire at each for 3 mins and boom the ship disappears we looked shock like wth and so we watch the ladders and they spawn on our boat. so we fight and we cant even kill them. we all fired shots and swords at the same guy and he didnt even lose a drop of health then started dancing and would not die. his whole crew would not die i kid you not! so he flings his sword 10 times under one second...? i didnt even know that could be done. i spawn back and we keep fighting and then there ship reappears and unloads on us sinking us. i read the forum all the time about guys having issues with hackers and at times i shrug it off as if maybe the people just didn't fight well or bad luck. well i got hit with it today and just wow man wow i didnt know the hacking was this bad. Time for me to take a break until Rare gets this under control shame.......i was really looking forward to the new content coming but if they cant deal with the hacking no point to even waste my time.

@sir-lotus no need to waste my time doing that all they will do is create a new account and they are back at it. Rare needs to put more employees on the seas undercover and find out whats going on in the game.
@kcbearz it's not only about making them ban someone, it's about them finding out what the hacker did and how to prevent it.

They would have to pay another 60 or so Euro's before they could play the game on that account... They have to pay for the game first. :P
Also how would it help Rare to remove hackers by having Rare play the game with us? Your logic is flawed.
I agree the hacking is extremely bad on the seas. We had an incident happen last night to us. My husband and I sail together on a sloop sometimes and we pulled up to an outpost to have our ship blown up and these two guys come aboard and dance in our faces while we tried to kill them with our swords and shoot them. Not one hit did any damage to them. They just danced in our faces and grabbed our pigs and chickens and sold them at the merchant before we could even blink. We were standing by the merchant and could only manage to kill the animals but not them. It really is truly getting ridiculous. There was no one on that outpost to be seen anywhere. We checked with the scope from the crows nest and there was no one at all. Worst part is we could hear them laughing and calling us suckers and losers and some other not nice things. It's getting ridiculous. We were on a pretty empty server too and had not seen a ship on it for some time. We have been around since the Beta days and we love this game but the more this keeps happening the more discouraged we are beginning to be about playing this game. I could understand if they had come up and fought fair but they were hackers and could not be killed. I love a good fight and I'm pretty handy with my sword and the cannons but this can't die stuff and this dancing around and laughing at us while we try to swing or shoot and they don't die while we hit them time after time is too much. It's a shame so many in this game cannot fight with honor. Pirates had honor to a point and they liked a fair fight not a cheater.
@pinkladykerrie Well i got my dose of it today when ships disappear and reappear and guys dancing in front of you and wont die. i feel the pain i really do i also played this game from beta.
@KcBearz I'm sorry you had to. There are so many here yelling there is no such thing as a hacker. Truth is they just haven't encountered one yet.... but they will eventually. They are everywhere and it's getting worse. We've had several encounters before this one and we know they exist. I actually googled it and did my research so we knew what we were up against. Just google it, it's there and it is a world of information. Some people are paying monthly subscriptions to this stuff.

@lowbei People like you need to be exiled from the community. Rare themselves made a thread recently about trollish behaviour in the forums. These people have obviously experienced the same thing. They're stressed and came to the community to report suspicious players. Seems like anytime someone comes to the forums to discuss their frustration there's always someone like you trying to low key troll them. I hope Rare starts cracking down on this type of behavior because it goes against the community they're trying to create.
I havn't had quite the experience with hackers like you did, though I have had an encounter with someone hacking. Had a sloop chase me down, then drop it's anchor while i was sailing around it, and they fired their cannon on one side faster than i could, had no lag, and i did get some direct hits on them. In the time i fired 2 shots they had 3-4 in the air.
Please avoid lashing out at your fellow community members :)

How are we supposed to 'police our community'? There is no community of PC players. We're not all gathered in some cozy Xbox app normaly, we're on our own. It's a wasteland out there, plaqued by origins and uplays. Only the steam land provides some comfort and safety.
Speaking from experience, most hackers I have encountered (none of them in SoT) were either russian or chinese (or other asian). I don't see how we could police people clearly set to break the rules.@lowbei

Im Interested in your interest in derailing hacking topics...A simple fix to this issue would be an internal parameter filter that runs constant checks in the background for PC users... No need for additional software to make the hacks obsolete or to understand what's going on... Just have auto bans for any account performing actions of any kind beyond acceptable parameters...
Also make it so the game won't load or run without the filter running...

One quick google search springs up potentially legitimate hacks, more than likely just another scam on many of these pages, but they're there apparently.
I will not suggest hacks don't exist. I won't even argue that people are always wrong in their claims.
But these topics are simply wasteful troll bait without something to back them up.

We've been reporting since day one. Hasn't solved the problem has it? My ISP hasn't notified me that I've exceeded my bandwith, so I'll just keep using it I guess.

Have you heard of family share??
Up to 10 GT's can share 1 game / app on windows 10, so the 'hackers & cheaters' can easily start a new GT for free & continue to play.
They do not have to purchase the game again!!
