Blunderbuss nerf unbalanced the game.

  • Was doing a raid with a 2 man sloop today and we got spawn camped on the ship over and over by this galleon. 2 enemies on a sloop camping is now impossible to take down unless they are playing their first time. They just shoot and eat all your bananas. When it was one-hit kill then you at least have a chance to take them down, at least one of them when you spawn. Then you can respawn and get the other or just get both from the get go. Makes sloops even weaker against galleons and now it's no longer possible to take down a team as an offensive player (which I was in my crew, I would board and try to take down the team which usually worked). Unbalancing the game so that players can have more variety in their choice of weapons is ridiculous when there are only 4 weapons. Rare needs to focus on bugs and making the game more stable and banning hackers before throwing out updates that unbalance the whole game.

  • @daguse0 we were at a raid. i would be able to take care of it before the update, now it's nearly impossible. my problem is not the pvp campers, it's that there are no ways to deal with them now. blunderbuss was the only thing, one shot and you can get them off.

  • Sounds like a tactical error. In most cases the galleons should have the advantage. I think the only place that needs to be improved is the sloops ability to outrun a galleon against the wind.

  • @h0twhe3lzmcg there is no way now for a sloop to deal with spawn campers. that's not a tactical error, it's a problem with the game.

    Almost sounds like they used superior tactics and eluded your attack.

    2 vs 2 with equal weapons...

  • @brutalpandax ...sounds like they owned the raid. Killing them would have meant nothing, they would have respawned and overwhelmed you again. Also, it's not unbalanced, 4 players should always be able to take out 2. It sounds like if anything they balanced it more.

  • @jimmy-voorhees if it's 1v2 then you have zero chance. 2v2 you spawn and die, then your buddy spawns and dies. i agree we could have spawned at the same time but we were used to the previous update.

  • @brutalpandax don’t get into a spawn camp situation. That’s the risk of raiding with a sloop. Instead, get in without killing the towers. They are your early warning. If they start shooting, get underway fast, or end up camped.

  • @h0twhe3lzmcg i know how the game works, before the update though there was a way to fight this off. now there is pure luck. avoiding raids and people shouldn't be the way to fight spawn campers.

  • @brutalpandax There is an easy way to deal with them... Scuttle the ship, spawn somewhere new and re-engage. You got bested mate, not an issue with the game, just how you played it.

  • I felt the BB was the same just had to be more accurate with my shots rather than getting lucky 1 shots ... Maybe u just got outplayed

  • I'm fine with the weapons balance changes, so far it seems to have fixed a bunch of problems with pvp.

    I do. You failed to fend off equally equipped foes who then overtook your vessel and maintained control and you came to petulantly whine about it here instead of scuttling and trying a new strat, or aknowledging that you'd been bettered and moved on.

  • @daguse0 its not about getting bested i dont care if i got bested i will learn from it. im saying the update has taken away the ability to fight off spawn campers. spawn camping should not be an impossible obstacle to overcome. you keep going on and on without seeing any issues with the game. gl to you when you get spawn camped on a sloop after the update.

    Well I am glad they changed it. Now the campers are your problem. Not rates fault, it’s the campers fault 👍

    • You let two players board your ship.
    • They killed you.
    • You respawned.
    • You couldn't kill them cause the weapon is no longer a one-shot kill....

    Please explain how that gave them an unfair advantage? Remember they can use the same weapon against you.

    Equal means balanced. Clealy the bus was OP if you could have 1 shot kills right out of spawning.

    I plsy solo 90% of the game. I don't loose my ship. Ever. You had 2 guys, thru had 2 guys. They beat you. Accept it.

  • The blunderbuss can still one shot players, it's been confirmed.

  • @the-song42 at what distance? i am always offense in my crew and take down 4 man galleons when i board them before the update. now i can't kill a couple of guys on my ship when i shoot them in the face over and over. its not like i die when i spawn either, i have like a minute long battle on my sloop with these guys shooting them over and over, still no go.

    But it sounds like the weapon is fine, they just need to give spawning players time to load before dropping you in.
    By the number and content of replies, I think you're barking up the wrong tree my friend.

  • @brutalpandax First of all chill and stop crying, because they took away your only way to win a fight in this game. Second did you maybe try to communicate with our mate and spawn at the same time ? Third have you tried to scuttle you ship and sail back there if you so badly wanted the skull keep? Sounds to me like you wasted 10-20 min getting killed and you could have easily sailed back there in that time + they would have made a couple waves by that time helping you get closer to the last wave. Finally spawn camping is a matter that has nothing to do with the bus I don't know why you mix the two things together. The nurf was probably one of the best things RARE did so far.

    Suggestion for possible spawnkill fix : After you get respawned the player should be in a state of immunity for 1-2 seconds also unable to fire to be fair to the person that camps you. I really don't see any other way to address this issue.

  • @captainflintkin the way to address the issue is the chance to one-shot somebody. every shooter has that kind of weapon. i was shooting them over and over point blank. i dont care about spawn campers and i usually take them down in the past. now i reload over and over and no matter how many times i hit them in the face with a shot gun, they don't die because they just eat a banana. how does that make any sense?
