I had this great idea about the best crossover ever. Monkey Island, and making LeChuck as some sort of a boss.
Crossover
When this topic comes up I always wonder how many sot players have emotional attachment to this or even any real idea what it is.
People around my age with my gaming background will get it but this games serves a whole bunch of different types of people and I'm not sure how much of the population it would excite
To me the one piece suggestion people often throw around probably would make a bigger splash. I don't know much about it but my guess is that it would serve a lot more people.

I think there's a decent amount of people that play SoT that know what Monkey Island is. While the crossover would never have as much hype around it like Jack Sparrow did, nor as much as One Piece might have, i think it'd be worth Rare's time to make some Monkey Island crossover costumes at the very least.
Maybe one Tall Tale if they really wanted to go the extra mile. Anything more would be overkill, as many younger folks would probably not get very exited about Guybrush being in SoT. They'd primarily play the Tall Tale because, well, it's a Tall Tale.
Overall, i do think that most likely, we'll get at least a couple of MI character costumes. I believe there's enough older fans that would buy the costumes because of nostaliga, and younger fans will buy them because they look "cool" (Le Chuck's costume would probably be the main cosmetic everyone would buy, his wardrobe is impressive to say the least!)
@el-spaniardchi In a way or another Monkey Island remains the grandfather of all whacky pirate fantasy adventure games. This fact it's easily proven by the more recent games paying homage to the Monkey Island franchise like Uncharted 4 and SOT.

I know of a certain Three Craniumed Simian who would love this crossover.
Hmm. Maybe a mod? No! That's impossible! I've never seen a three headed monkey before!

@rasvasilakka There is an Easter egg in the "Captains of the Damned" Tall Tale that indicates how Monkey Island is part of the same universe as SOT.
This isn’t present in the “Captains of the Damned” tale. It is in the “A Pirates Life” tale tale

Actually it is "A Pirate's Life" Tall Tale.

I think they meant the first Pirates life Tall Tale, or the Cursed Captain Tall Tale, as i like to call it.
@el-spaniardchi yes that’s what I’ve said. The first one is called “A Pirates Life” so it gets a bit confusing.
