Everyone has the same game, you just got some cosmetics your friend doesn't have...
Yeah! Essentially what you purchased was just a “flare”. There’s really no traditional DLC for sea of thieves. Any purchases you make are simply better deals than what you’d get in the Pirate Emporium.
So yeah, your friend can still play and he will see whatever cute critter you bought! Happy Sailing!
