Losing your weapons

  • Double Gunning is a strong thing, money is at an all time high with not much to buy, so how about this! When you die, you lose your weapons (excluding the sword) and you have to pay for your weapons back in the weapon locker on the Ferry of the Damned.

All weapons cost $250 to purchase back. When you buy a new weapon skin, you get a free weapon use.

    Also New Ammo Types:
Grog Bullets- Makes your enemies drunk
Incendiary Bullets- Sets your enemy on fire
    Poison Bullets- Poisons the enemy
Kraken Bullets- Ink the enemies screen

Okay thats all the interesting things I can think of

  • Absolutely not! This is extremely unbalanced for one, and IMO, just plain stupid. We already tried death penalties earlier in the game's development cycle; nobody liked them so they were scrapped. On top of that, a death penalty would disproportionately affect new players, who won't have much money and will probably by dying much more often than veteran players. In some cases they might not even be able to pay the death tax; then what? Are they stuck without weapons?

What sort of game you do want Sea of Thieves to be, anyways? You just created threads advocating for totally random, unnecessarily disruptive features that, when combined with this, would make playing the game in general a royal pain in the rear. For shame, man, this is a cartoonish pirate adventure, not Sea of Dark Souls.

  • @Reekyu Think before you post, please.

  • Oh and how about allowing the cutlass to be able to block and parry bullets too, for balance of course. ;|

  • Ummmmmmmmmmmmmm How About No.

just an idea, because double gunning is very popular, and the sword wouldnt need to be paid for, a free item always.

Definitely a lazy way to end the double gunning and it wouldnt even. But people are so rich that there is nothing to pay for.

Meaning this would exclusively benefit veteran players who can afford the death tax. Again, NO.

Also, if you really want to fix double gunning, fix reload animations so you actually need to finish them before you can fire again. If you really, really want to get rid of it altogether, add more melee weapons and restrict loadouts to one of each (gun and not-gun). If you just want to make it harder to use two guns, have guns share the same ammo pool.

Why would you want to end double gunning? It's not OP anymore. Sword can easily keep up with DG and on boats even outperform it.

  • @reekyu No to the losing weapons and ammo. If the new player dies, they probably won't have enough gold to get their weapons back. The new ammo types would not be a good thing to implement.
