Take out dumb stuff like earthquakes and lower spawn rate of ghost ships. Try to focus on maxed out servers. You guys still have a chance to bring this game back. A post similar to this just got deleted. The problem is who are streamers? They are not game developers they are entertainers. Sure I don’t agree with some updates in online games but that doesn’t stop me from playing the game.
Each update adds something new to the game while bringing back old bugs. That’s what needs focus. Not listening to streamers. Work better on updates not breaking the game.
While everyone can have their opinion doesn’t make it fact. Can’t sleep on someone’s ship for an hour due to a volcano shaking the ship? Oh well guess you need to try a different tactic.
Oh hell no. There are many good Sea of Thieves streamers worth listening to. Summit is not one of them.

I'm a pvper. and sinking a ship is all the reward I need. u can keep ur 1500 good.

summit1g is utterly wrong with almost all of what he say's and builds his opinion on.
He does not understand the games design and concept and he's is on top not a player who want to partake and contribute in a pvpve sandbox game what is about a social experience.
Thats not him alone, unfortunately the majority is not interested in a social gaming experience and playing together, caring for your fellow player and keep it all playfull and about fun.
No he an the majority of gamers, take it all to personal, exagerate on almost everything, dont care for their fellow players, acting less empathic only to "own" others and such.
He makes a completely wrong arpoach playing this game and therefore No!!!If you're talking about the video I think you're talking about, he was just throwing his toys out of the pram because he failed in his objective.
It's a no from me, this game is evolving just fine from my perspective. This game was never meant to be a PvP fest. Currently it's a great blend of PvP & PvE.
I don't think the world of SOT will miss this guy, and if he really quits playing due to his hurt ego then I think our gaming community will be better without him.
Rage quitting can't be an attractive way for a streamer to end his session and blaming his failure on "the game" is an easy way for him to excuse the mistakes he made while playing.

Seems legit.Maybe it’s an age thing but I just don’t know why you’d sit and watch someone else play a game for two hours when you could be playing it yourself. As for donations - now this I REALLY don’t understand.
Nobody should let someone else tell them whether they should like/dislike something. Everyone should make up their own mind. If you don’t you may as well stand in a field chewing grass and looking forward to your annual shave.

I agree that there should be more reasons to PvP other than my own desire to sink ships but I also like sailing for miles without seeing anyone and being able to PvE without worry. For my play style, the balance is almost perfect. With a sandbox such as this, pleasing everyone is impossible. The balance seems to skew towards more casual play and is less suited for the try hard. I like summit but like alot of streamers he seems to think his opinion is best and I disagree on this matter. This game is classic and has a wide audience from very little kids to chill old folks like myself. This game isn't built for the younger ADHD crowd, imo.
@swimmdude1 I agree with you dude, I like summit1g, he makes me laugh when he does his sneak plays and it inspired me now to do my own kind of thing where i like to sneak treasure onto someone's ship while also killing them to confuse them aswell lol. It really does bring me satisfaction to know I can sneak treasure onto your ship to make ppl grateful even after I kill them.
Summit1g is one of best pirates to gain tips and tricks off of and they literally almost got rid of ways to make sneak plays even work anymore, I dont get why they would put something like an accommodation for stealing chests of legends from others if they're just going to nerf things that have to do with sneak plays. They also seemed to have nerfed the pistols in the game to 3 shots to kill someone now too, I've been surviving skellys with pistols that shoot at me 3 times and the 2 that usually hits me to kill me doesn't, (not that I'm complaining about that) but now I'm more concerned about pvp interaction after that and have become discouraged to even use the pistol now cuz it's legit my favorite weapon of choice.
So Rare, if you could just please explain the unfathomable BS happening in your game, so I can go on not being confused of it all that would be great, just drop a message to me if you can about this.
But overall, please I implore, PLEASE focus more on the pvp aspect of this game aswell as pve, maybe a little more than pve, for pirates like me that like to have fun on your game the way it was intended.
(Edit) the only thing to be fair that I've noticed about sneak plays not working right is that I can hear ppl swimming to my ladder of my ship even when they are doing that slow swim up to it. That right there is a huge disadvantage to sneaking to players ships. Idk if it's just a bug that I've been experiencing but it's been happening for a while now for me and just wondering of anyone else has noticed or experienced this issue with it.
@xix-zeno-xix Players and skeletons don't do the same damage. A player will always do 50% of a players health worth of damage with the pistol, while skeleton damage with a pistol varies. If Rare changes that, they will give us a heads up.
@xix-zeno-xix pistol skellies do less damage than player pistols. and you've always been able to hear someone swimming and getting on your ladder, sometimes it's just more quiet.

Sorry friend, but you should stop idolizing streamers and people on other social media platforms.
Adding to the PvP components of the game is a great idea, but it must also be in balance and harmony with components added to the PVE component of the same game.
Remember friend, this Sea of Thieves is a hybrid PvP-PvE game, its not specifically focused for a good reason.
@testakleze fair enough then, I was very confused why that was happening, and I take back my claims bcuz I was doing some video research on ppl clips and stuff to try and see if ppl were having the same confusion as me and I debunked my claims and feel embarrassed lol.

It's so sad that the SOT "community" does NOT embrace streamers and in fact seems to do the opposite. I mean, I am not one to say the Devs need to do what these streamers are asking for but at the very least they should be listening and promoting them due to they promote the game. I think the community should support them as well because they promote the game. Because lets be realistic about this situation, if this game continues to lose it's player base then the game will no longer be supported. For me I'm all for new players coming to check this unique gem that has oh soooo much potential!

I think its cause Rare is a bunch of nice guys. They always wanna push friendly and social interactions.
From what i hear about Summ1t , he only pvps and is really entitled and whiny.I bet if a streamer as big as Summit was playing, being nice, playing both sides of the game, Rare would be more likely to embrace them.
I agree they should embrace streamers more. I know they do on mixer, but there are alot of streamers these days. At least one of them should fit the bill of the type of pirate Rare wants to promote.
Another problem i see players say is that this game is just not exciting to stream.
Lots of downtime sailing between islands.
Accomploshing anything in this game takes alot of time.
Thats why i think Summit is popular.
Hes a pvp guy who showcases the fun action packed moments in the game.@l4chsfps A game that only carter to casuals is bound to die, and whoopty whoop, sot is bleeding players by the minute.
And it's the good and dedicated players who are leaving, which is terrible for the community, at some point this game will only have soccer moms who boot it once every 3 months playing it.
