Voyage Help Archive

  • Met a cool cat last night and we started playing sloop two man. We had some amazing fun over like 16 hours straight. My arm is killing me! Gave a lot of hell! Had some fabulous defeats too. Many many amazing tales!! Absolutely love the game.

Anyway sometime in the wee hours a riddle came on our screens. Something about winds blowing and new ships?!?!
It was like a four line poem or riddle. Definitely mentioned new ships. Anyone see thAt? Anyone get a screenshot?

  • Me and a friend found a message in a bottle for the skeleton captain at Plunder Valley. we have now spent a half hour running around the island looking for the blue bandanas and can't find a single one. almost like the mission is bugged. we have done other skeleton without problems but it seems like this bottle is no good. can anyone offer some help are we doing something wrong or is this bottle just bugged out ?

  • I’m not certain about how the voyage system works entirely. I know when you all vote to do a voyage and then all vote to cancel the voyage that it permanently disappears. But what happens if you’re doing a voyage, don’t complete it and have your ship sunk? Do you lose the voyage or does it just respawn with your boat when you visit the mermaid?

Also, what happens if you scuttle your ship (crew decision) with a voyage selected? Does the voyage sink with the ship or does it respawn with the boat when you get a new boat?

  • So basically I've unlocked a few items and saved up gold, but i hate what my character looks like. If I deleted my character and made new one will I still have my current gold and items I've unlocked so far?

Sorry if this has already been posted.

  • First thing first:
QUESTIONS, not orders! "Shall we go to the outpost?"
consequentially enable basic answers, "YES", "NO".
Just this could be a major change!

Second Thing: More options on the available choices!
"Shall we go to the fort/island/shipwreck?"

    Other MISSING options:
    "Go Vote Voyage please"
    "treasure is on the cabin/mast/bridge...."
    "Go take the ship pls"
"Raise anchor" (why just the opposite?!?!?!?!)

and for a basic "HELP ME!" a very useful thing could be a FLARE GUN to show your precise position on certain islands...the lantern is NOT ENOUGH to be seen (even at night)!

    Yarr!

  • Hi,

I was playing solo this morning, and was able to pile up a nice amount of chests, and gunpowder.

A storm came, and after some strike of thunder, one hit the front of my ship, and reached my gunpowder barrels in the hold.
Obviously, with 7 barrels my ship was sent right to the moon.

So i was wondering, is there a place on the sloop where we can store our gunpowder safely ?

    Thanks,

    Bru

  • Hi everyone,
Just a few words because i am kind of loosing my mind.
Every time I play this game, this bug happens : my roulette to choose the items from my inventory (fruits etc ...) is getting stuck, i mean i can't hide it anymore, its all the time ON my screen litterally, i need to restart the game 2-5 times by hours !! This sucks a lot, if someone could help me to solve this, i 'll really appreciate that !

    Anyway thanks !

  • The clue leads me to Sailors Bounty. It's reads "The high point overlooking the rocky stream swallowed in belly of land, enter bravely then lift light in hand." I assumed the cave system in the middle of the island in which it has a stream. I've entered it and pulled out my lantern. I've pulled out my lantern first then entered. I've waited until I got to the highest point in the cave system overlooking the stream and pulled it out. I pulled it out above the waterfall inside. I've pretty much lit that entire system up with my lantern and can't seem to trigger anything. Please help......

  • As a Solo Pirateer I have come across times when I am being followed by other ships, or watched in case I bring back some booty from an island to my sloop. Can I hide this on the island, sail away, and come back in 5-10 minutes to pick it up from it's hiding place? or will it despawn as soon as I leave the vicinity? how long will treasures stay waiting to be retrieved?

  • I have watched slides of maps and even a youtube video, am I totally blind or is this map not on the map?

  • does anyone know where to find the Bell to the south?

  • Quick question about the floating skull. Me and matt crew attempted it the other day but didn't finish it and now the floating skull doesn't seem to appear any more. Anyone know a reason for why this is doing this?

  • I have pleayed this night finding a lot of treasure chests, two skulls...and i have no rewards yet, no money and no reputation with them. I am not going to play without any progression.

    Any solution?

    Thanks.

  • Hello all,

Just sold 2 seafarers chests that I stole from another crew. I got no gold for them, just reputation.

    Anyone know why?

    Regards,
    Faramous

  • So everytime I capture a pig it never stays in the cage long and it disappears out of no where. I can never do any merchant quest because of this. What do I do? What's going wrong?

  • Hello, bougt SoT yesterday, so far loving it.

So first off, when I logged in the 1st time it gave me this automated username. How can I change it to a name I like? I looked everywhere in my panel here and my MSN panel.

So explored some islands yesterday. What are the point of the skeletons as I killed about 50, none dropped any sort of coin or loot. Same with the pigs and chickens, those suckers don't die no matter how many times i stab the little b******s.

What am I missing on making coin? So many cool items in the shops but so expensive. After playing 5 or so hours yesterday I only made enough coin to buy the "1" eye patch and a beard. Have about 200 coin left. Are the items like guns and swords upgrades or are all items just vanity?

  • I've asked elsewhere and no one responds. WHY does the game start me all over every time I log out and back in? I played yesterday and had loot in my boat and logged out. When I logged back in again I had to pick a boat and start from the beginning. HEY RARE! W*F?

  • Not sure whether anyone else has had this problem or not but so far I've turned in 3 skulls, 4 seafarer chests, a captain's chest, and a chest of sorrow but I have not received any gold for them. I wasn't sure if this was a known issue or if my game is just glitched or something.

  • I am dumbfounded by the Reputation Rank system, and whatever purpose it serves. I'm Reputation Level 30 with the Gold Hoarders, and just completed a Voyage with 1 Map with 1 Dig Spot that gave me a Seafarer Chest? This far along and the Chest might not even cover the cost of the Voyage? I don't understand how Voyages can even remotely compete with Skeleton Forts as they stand.

So, what exactly does having a higher level with the Factions actually do? Is it purely to give longer voyages? Does it increase the value of items found on the Voyages? Is it just a way to unlock a few titles?

  • For gold to Plunder Valley you sail, but I'll take a wager you will fail

Find stone guardian of Canyon Pass, this riddle bewitches, 9 paces West by South West, will your shovel strike box of riches?

  • Hello Guys,

do someone know, how the reward of a yoyage gets calculated?

Sometimes I get 600g for a golden chicken and sometimes only 50g...
For the same chest sometimes 800g and sometimes 100g...

Is that a random value??? This feels not good... because sometimes I am 60 mins for 2 missions out of see and only make 1600g.

    Cheers

  • I hate to give away the "tricks of the trade" but I feel like I need to confirm this before I spend too much time on something that is innefective.

Basically, does everyone know you can sell golden chickens and golden pigs for 1-1.8k? Grab a level 2 or 3 merchant voyage, open it up, if it doesn't have a golden animal scrap it and repeat until you get a voyage to sell a golden animal. Stock up on coops and cages before scrapping voyages and just port hop selling the animals for a stupid amount of money.

I haven't seen a faster way to make money yet. I hear skull island raids are fast money makers, but that would require people to stop griefing my ship while I'm fighting skellies and that's not about to happen!

To make a longer question longer, am I doing this right? Anyone have a better way?

  • Heyho

I was wondering if playing in a group, do everyone in it get the same ammount of gold for Selling stuff?

    greets

  • The world is changing, new dangers there be
Between boundless sky and treacherous sea
On rolling waves with sails unfurled
Ships come to plunder this new world

Thought this was interesting since I'm not sure why it appeared, maybe it's teasing a new event or update who knows.

  • I've found a few help threads on this, but it seems riddles can vary a bit.

I found the first part fine. Found the second part fine. I'm having trouble with the last part.

"Walk to the Northeast Entwined by trees then honest toil, 7 paces south east your well earned prize beneath the soil"

The bold part I get lost on where I'm suppose to stop exactly. It doesn't tell me pacing, there are various trees about so I don't know where to stop or what honest toil refers to.

  • Me and a buddy have done some skeleton forts, a few missions and looted some island. We turned all of it in and didnt get any gold nor rep.
I figured it must be delay that holds it up. Sadly almost a day later i still have not recieved any of the gold or rep. Even tho i did new voyages and i did get credit for that.
It says on a official post that its waiting to be handed out its in a queue, but it seems odd to me that the voyages i do later will get to me first.

    Anyone else having these issues?

  • As of this point the Sloop ship is very underpowered and takes some good tricks to keep afloat.

    1. Be on the Lookout
Whether you are sailing solo or sailing with a crew mate you must always be keeping your eyes out for enemy ships. This is especially important when you already have loot on your ship as having your ship sunk usually means bye bye to all that precious loot.

I’d recommend keeping your eyes out whenever you are not busy adjusting the sails, fixing holes in the ship, or steering the boat. Spotting enemy ships when they are very far away is key to survival because the goal in the Sloop is to escape rather than fight.

    1. Adjust Your Sail Angles
This is vital to both ships but especially the Sloop since you are reliant on the ships speed. A lot of newbie players don’t adjust their sails to the wind, furthermore not capitalizing on their potential maximum speed.

You always want your sails to be turned in the opposite direction from where the wind is blowing. So if the wind is blowing from the back left corner of your ship, then you want to angle your sails to the front right. You can tell when you’ve done this successfully because you’ll hear your sails crackle and pop and you’ll also see them get an arch to them rather than being near parallel to the board that supports them.

I’d also never recommend raising your sail length higher than 1/2 way up after you initially lower them. If you get yourself stuck in dangerous terrain then you must raise your sails to maneuver out but never go into an island or an outpost slow, you don’t have the time.

    1. Always Anchor Boat in Direction You’re Going to Be Leaving
You never want to get yourself into a sticky situation when you anchor your boat because time is the key to success. I personally always recommend coming in hot and making a sharp turn in whatever direction faces the sea.

You do that by beginning the drop of your anchor and turning your wheel all the way to either the left or the right (whichever direction will turn you towards the sea). When you stop you will spin like crazy almost to a 180 angle, leading you back out towards the sea.

It’s just as important to drop your anchor on the side of your island that’s closest to an outpost as well. Say you plan to take your loot back to an outpost after you find buried treasure on Cutlass Cay, the closest outpost is Sanctuary Outpost (may not be acccurate) and from Cutlass Cay the outpost is southwest. You don’t want to put your ship on the east side of the island, but put your ship on the southwest side of the island. That way it’s smooth and quick sailing to the closest outpost after your visit to the island.

    1. Avoid Engagement Unless Necessary
A lot of players will track you down and attack you just if they see you, but whenever you attack an enemy player you risk losing the fight which means losing any loot you may have. When riding on the Sloop, escape is your best skill so use it wisely to escape sticky scenarios with taking little to no damage.

I don’t recommend ever going up into the crows nest, especially if you are playing solo. Everything you really need to see you can see from the top deck of your ship, the crows nest takes awhile to get into, and then takes more time to get back to the bottom.

This is more of an annoyance rather than a trick but I’ve noticed on Xbox when a player nears you, the game lags for a couple seconds. I wouldn’t rely on this as being your technique for searching for boats but whenever your game lags I’d recommend checking around your boat for enemy players.

    1. Number of Voyages
I’d recommend doing the number of voyages equal to the number of players that you have in your game. If it’s you solo then I’d recommend doing 1 voyage and then returning to an outpost, and if it’s 2 then do 2 voyages at a time.

Doing it this way minimizes the frustration of getting your ship sunk. You will definitely have your ship sunk after spending time in this game, so only having a couple pieces of loot is better than losing 10+ pieces.

This is of course completely up to you, but if you want to play it safe then I’d recommend sticking to only a couple pieces of loot per trip out on your boat.

    1. **Little Tricks Within the Sloop **
When you are on the top deck of the boat near the wheel and the anchor, you can see the map, taking away your need to go visit it or needing a navigator. I’d recommend setting it at your destination so you can see your ship gradually reach your destination.

The wheel itself clicks 3 times total. When you are at the middle, the wheel will click, when you go as far left as possible it will click, and when you go as far right. Use this to your advantage when steering because it will greatly benefit you especially in heavy storms when you lose a lot of control over your ship.

Leave your cannons unloaded. When speed is key, you want to shoot your self out of cannons. You rarely want to fight so keeping your cannons unloaded isn’t too detrimental to your safety since it does not take long to load the 2 cannons on board. If you’re playing solo you must aim the cannon where you want before you get inside, but if you have a crew mate they can aim when you get inside.

This list is by no means a pro guide to mastering the Sloop, but I believe it is a strong guide to beginner players wanting to play on the Sloop and struggling.

  • Hi everyone, sorry if this is material for another section of the forum but could not fine the appropriate one and this looked like it.
I wanted to report (and see if somebody else experienced them too) a couple of problems I have encountered so far while playing:

    • many times when loading into the game y ship is not there at the dock but a siren/triton is t bring me to it and this happened often. No other ships around that could have sunk it no cannonballs heard that are telling me somebody is sinking it, just...it's not there;
    • once I found the ship ONTO the dock!!! Lined up on the actual length of the dock and unable to sail as...well...it was landed XD;
    • at times I am not able to see anything on the TAB option, either my progression or my voyages available. the layout of the TAB menu is there but nothing appears and, I mean, you have to have a progression even if it is 0 reputation with all the factions;
    • I am unable sometimes to pick up objects from the ground. I know what I am trying to pick up I can interact with but I cannot pick it up;

Also I would like to make a couple of suggestions as I find it a bit frustrating.

    1. Is it possible to have the weapons equipped not to change back to default after I log back into the game? I guess that the character is always the same so the equipment is easy that are remaining he same.
    2. Is it possible to spawn (after you log in) not always in the same outpost? It is not necessary for the scope of the game to always spawn i the same place and a bit of change would be nice just to be ale to see a different panorama sometimes. Also it would be great if after you die and your ship get sunk to re-spawn (maybe after the second time, not at first) in another outpost??? I really love the PvP part of this game so please don't get me wrong, but if I am playing alone and I constantly re-spawn nearby the place of my death, is very likely that, if the crew that killed me is still in the area, I will be dead again and again and again...because they wanna kill me!!! and they have the right to do it!

    cheers

  • Ok so I feel like having the kraken as some kind of 'legendary pirate' boss would be cool maybe it could have 3 stages. First wpuld be the usual second could be its head rising out of the water and you neefing to steer your ship and shoot it in the face. And then possibly it could sink back into the water and attempt to eat your ship, and the inly way to kill it then is by throwing a gunpowder barrel into the wurlpool its createing.
