I am the only tired of fat pirates being "inmortal"?

  • I don't know how, but fat pirates always look like they are cheating due to their resistance.

Today I hitted one with a pistol, a blunderbus, impossible to be a fake hit from the server since he was just in front of me walking in my direction... and also he suffered a cannon hit from one of my friends (his character has been moved, so I repeat, not a fake client hit, it was real) but he didn't die.

Cannon + pistol + blunderbuss, and he still alive.

And this is one case, it always happens, fat guys have some problem with server hits that made them extremly difficult to kill.

  • Are you saying good sir that I'm immortal?
Because I'm a fat pirate and I kinda die... a lot.

We need way more info on this to see what's really going on. Did you raise a support ticket? Do you have video evidence? I'd love to see where you hit them and the whole situation.
What was your ping? 30ms or 1000ms makes quite a difference.

I personally think you just shot outside of his hitbox, see deep inside of us there's a pill pirate ;-)

  • @guepard4 I must say I never heard this before. I would say a fat pirate would be easier to kill because it's a bigger target :P

  • I have found that many times the fattest characters are more resistant. Perhaps they give it more resistance to compensate for its larger size. Or maybe it seems that you give it and in reality it does not affect the fat characters.

  • @guepard4 I also think that something happens with the fat characters, the other day something similar happened to what happened to you.

It could be a hitbox problem for the character that is not well done.

  • I find it fun when in a ship battle to yell "get the fat one" Or the Fat one got me

  • nothing to do with the character. Lately the servers are not registering damage even though you are getting hitmarkers from your point of view. It's getting to a very annoying point to be honest as this is happening quite a lot.

  • @barnacle-blake and that is of course is fully acceptable as that is their outstanding feature - I often shout it myself! XD

  • @guepard4 Hitboxes are the same for all pirate models in the game, however, hit markers are very off. Your shots aren't always registered accurately on the server. I have killed people without getting a hit marker and I have had hit markers without actually damaging the other player.

A friend and I got on the same server on different boats and fought each other for over an hour on an outpost. Half the time when I got a hit marker, he wasn't actually hit. And many times I hit him without getting a hit marker. He experienced the same when shooting me, and neither of us have large pirate characters.

  • @guepard4
errrr im a fat irate and took a cannonball to the face died instantly earlyer today

but then when me left the ferry of the damned and hid in the lower deck of the sloop was getting the knockback from cannons hitting my boat but taking like 1 dammage

wondering if u was fighting a cheater or some 1 that had a invisable wall inbetween u

  • @guepard4 I don't think it's a "fat pirate thing"(though fat pirates are very misleading visually in regards to hit boxes), you probably ran into a cheater or one of you had really bad latency. I ran into a cheater the other day with invulnerability, so it does still happen. I shot him with EoR twice while he was swimming to my ship, stuffed him 3 times with a blunderbuss while he was climbing my ladder and he just kept climbing back up without healing a single time, shot him with EoR while my friend was wailing on him with a sword. He killed us eventually, and we had to scuttle because obvious reasons. That was the first cheater i've run into since the first month after launch, so they are much less common, but they are still out there.
